Phil Green is the hands-on owner at P. G. C. Construction, Remodeling and Design. For more than 32 years he’s honed his skills in all facets of the remodeling, specializing in kitchen and bath remodels. PGC also provides design work and has particular expertise in tile work.
Phil has been in the tile-setting industry for more than 40 years, starting as a helper at age 13. Later he earned his journeyman’s card as a union tile setter. As the housing industry began to struggle in the early 1980s, Phil decided to take his skill to the residential homeowner market, providing quality workmanship at affordable prices. Volunteering for Habitat for Humanity and doing projects to serve the community through his local church is important to Phil.
Along with actively running the day-to-day of his remodeling business, he’s also become an entrepreneur. The two products he’s created and is now marketing include Edge Strip Kits and the Back-Butter Buddy. Edges Strip Kits are a synthetic cork product used to contain SLC when installing electric floor-warming systems. ESKs work well with both free-cable and mat-type heaters. Information can be found at www.edgestripkits.com. The Back-Butter Buddy provides a safe and secure rotating platform for the tile setter when applying thin set to the back of all tiles installed. That means less fatigue for the setter. The Information can be found at http://www.primo-tools.com/products/back-butter-buddy.html.
Phil is married to his wife Gail, and the dad of three sons: Chad, Brett and Ryan. He lives in Chicago’s northwest suburbs.
