It is not a worm drive, you can tell from the motor position. The axis of the motor is parallel to the axis of the blade, for a worm drive saw the axis of the motor has to be perpendicular to the axis of the blade. It looks like a repackaging of their original flexvolt circular saw. Still a nice looking tool, I would be interested to feel the…[Read more]

I think I read a while ago Chevon is making the 24V power Kobalt power tools Lowes sells recently too which is different than their manufacturer for their hand tools.

robotmaster5379 replied to the topic How do you Flatten your Boards in the forum Woodworking/Carpentry 3 years, 10 months ago
I built a router sled for my last project and it works nicely. Before that I used to hand plane one side as a reference then put it through the planer, but if you have a few boards to do and can get a large diameter router bit, the sled is faster.
If you have boards that are badly cupped, another trick is to rip down the middle with the bandsaw…[Read more]

I didn’t know dominoes came in 4mm, those would be great. The Domino system is so expensive though it would be hard for me to justify.
The 1/4″ dowels I think would be worse than biscuits since the biscuits are around 4mm.
I have done just edge gluing on thin boards clamping near the ends for alignment. These ones were over 4ft long so…[Read more]

I was joining two pieces of wood, just under 3/8″ thick. At 4 feet long, I wanted something to provide board to board alignment, but my biscuit jointer didn’t want to line up in the middle without shimming it. With shimming I think there is just enough left on these pieces to make it work this time. What other methods do you guys use for alignment…[Read more]

This could be promising. I have a few of their pneumatic nailers and they work great, but I haven’t ever really heard of their cordless tools being loved. Maybe this buyout will force more competitive tools to come forth.

robotmaster5379 replied to the topic Repairing rotten wood- product recommendation in the forum Woodworking/Carpentry 3 years, 10 months ago
I have cut out the rotten wood down to good wood, then applied Bondo. Once it begins to harden, it slices nicely with a chisel to shape, but once hardened all the way is hard to shape. The Bondo lasts for longer than the wood under it and can be painted easily.

I don’t think your plan would work as you laid out. My understanding of the Dewalt power station is it uses all the batteries simultaneously. For this you can do math with the amp-hours of the packs assuming ideal use, it would vary some with real world use and depending on the condition of your batteries.
