  • You are right of course and I knew that, but it should still work, even if it is basically useless. I have 2 distinct devises and neither work with it. It also gave me first hand experience with their customer service. Back when their forum was in place, there were lot’s of grumblings about CS. Now I know why.

  • I agree Eric, about the quality of their products, so far. I have everything you have minus the blower plus the chain saws and rototiller.

    They are not cheap though and we shouldn’t have to go through hoops to get things fixed. Down the road, if something goes wrong, at least in my area, no one fixes them. So your option are to replace them…[Read more]

  • Brian, make sure these stores are authorized retail sellers by EGO. I can buy from far more sellers, but many are not authorized, even sellers through Amazon. Ego will not warranty anything not sold by authorized sellers.

  • As you know, I am fairly invested into the EGO platform, as well, but I can’t overlook their customer service. They have pretty good warranties, but it doesn’t mean squat if they cannot perform on them.

  • I just checked my account on EGO’s website and clicked on customer service. There were 4 cases dealing with my Nexxus issue. All have been closed. I also had received emails for surveys regarding their service on this issues. Those surveys have also are shut down.

  • I’m sending the Nexxus back. Their customer service sucks, pandemic or not. Last Friday, for the second time they told me my case was being escalated, a priority, and that someone would be contacting me on Monday. Well it’s now a week later and no contact.

  • I just sent in a request for the cordless jig saw, for my son. No rush really.

  • Last box that was received was in late July, does that sound about right.

  • I have 30 days to return the Nexxus to Amazon. If I don’t get a fix for the wifi/bluetooth issue, I’ll send it back, but probably for another one.

  • Is that with or without batteries?

    I’m not sure about the availability of the two stage, here in the US. Lowes doesn’t even have it on their website and Amazon says that it usually ships in 3-5 weeks, which means they have no idea. Ace and Acme are two other US dealers that don’t have them in stock.

  • You know I’ve thought about EGO shutting down their Community forum. That was one of the best resources for info on their products, including problems. The only reason I can think of is that folks brought their problems there for all the public to see and EGO didn’t like it.

  • Well it’s not a good unit if it fries other devices that are plugged into it. I can’t afford that.

  • So, I broke down and bought the Nexus 3000, tool only, on Amazon. Thought I would try it out and see if I felt I would need more then the 5 batteries that I have.

    It did run my coffee maker, so that’s a plus. I wasn’t able to get the wifi or bluetooth apps to run off either my apple phone or my Samsung tablet.

  • How much snow are you expecting to get, Jim?

    I like snow, but I’m perfectly fine with what we get. The most snow since I’ve been here, in one day, is about 18″. Usually it’s 8″ or less.

  • That’s good to know about the Traeger, I have a Pit Boss pellet BBQ, I should have checked that for power consumption. I imagine it would be really close to the stove. The stove may have a additional blower, that wouldn’t use much energy.

We are under a weather warning for higher winds and low humidity.
