Those are some of the most unusual and elaborate doors I have seen. A lot of work went into making those.

$30 CAD. Scoring spur is untouched.
Made in AlbionNice find! Do you have a collection of Stanley planes? I reconditioned a Stanley low angle block plane my dad had. I love to use it for just the sentimental value.

Bosch makes a couple of benchtop tables that are reasonably priced. The RA1181 is on the prize list.

My grandson (14) and I spent time together the last couple of days making pens. It is an uncomplicated and safe way to expose him to the lathe. He amazed me with his skill, attention to learn, and his finished work. I am hoping he continues to want to learn out there in the shop. We finished 21 but I will just post a couple of…[Read more]

Here’s a similar one to the Rockler drill bit guide. The Rockler is more adjustable and thus higher priced. I can see it being used to drill angled holes for legs or posts in chairs and stools. I believe it is fairly new from Rockler. The Milescraft has been around for a long time.

Miamicuse wrote:I am curious, could you do the same thing to an existing live tree? In other words, recess a trunk to insert an outdoor weather proofing clock?
I would say the answer depends. Disrupting the flow of nutrients up the tree trunk could kill the tree. Some trees have very thick bark so you might be able to do it with that type of…[Read more]

I made a bunch of burl clocks for holiday gifts. It was not as easy as it might seem. Chainsawing the burls was interesting because the maple burls where almost like cutting rock. They dulled the chainsaw blade by the time we were done. Then came more smoothing, filling cracks and drilling holes. The maple ruined one Forstner bit. End result…[Read more]

Lon replied to the topic do you think of 12v and 18v of the same brand as different platforms? in the forum Power Tools, Pneumatic Tools, Hand Tools and All Things Tools 1 month, 3 weeks ago
I agree that you look at these voltages as different platforms. You may or may not have the same tool in different sizes but there are definite differences between the 12v and 18v tools in their capabilities.
