It would be great if they offered up some miter saw blades for review. I didn’t end up going with them but I have heard great things. I have been using their router bits a ton lately and enjoy the heck out of them.
Long story short, I am looking f…[Read more]

Yes, and it works pretty great for giving your phone a quick charge. I find that when using the charger and jacket the battery life if significantly less (obviously).

I don’t use an anti-fog for my safety glasses but I do for my diving masks. The one thing that would get old for me is the slight discomfort and burning you get from using a defogger on goggles. I would be interested to hear if anyone uses defog on sealed goggles?

This is a great thread, OMT blades are not getting any cheaper and keeping them sharp is essential to their main purpose. When I am using a half moon blade I will roll is through the wood so that it distributes the load and subsequently the heat. When cutting metal with a carbide blade I go light on the pressure and when the blade gets too hot I…[Read more]

I am still sitting on a pile of 80/20 in my shop that I haven’t put to good use. I want to make an articulating arm for local DC but I just haven’t got around to it yet. I would love to see more peoples projects with 80/20.

Its almost like an embarrassment of riches. But when I think about it I have so many other specialized tools that my levels should be no different. I happen to win $1000 worth of Johnson Levels about a year ago and…[Read more]

Have you thought about going with a jobsite phone, not sure if anyone still makes them but Nextel used to.

I own a Bosch laser measure and it is incredible how it speeds up estimating. I have used it to mock up plans and its 2 to 3 times as fast a a roller or tape. I sure wouldn’t hate to win this contest and add another one to my stable.

I am a fan of Mike Rowe and I am looking forward to his new show Somebody’s Gotta Do It. Also, I read that Jesse James was trying to pitch a hands on instructional show highlighting metal and wood work. I hope that picks up since he is exceptionally talented.

Damn Moze, I have never seen these magical scissors before. I typically just use Fiskars but they get resin from even the weakest tape. I am going to pick up a pair of these and give them a run.

My new go-to for precision marking is my compass. I use it on almost everything I do in the shop. I bought a classic compass on Ebay and I love it. The ends are extremely sharp points so accuracy is never in question. I will post a pic soon.

Over the weekend I went to Three Floyds and Lagunitas and both exceeded my expectations. If you guys like IPA’s then these two breweries are for you. An added bonus is that at Three Floyds the food it out of this world.

This thread is topical now that I have the Iphone 6 and lifeproof doesn’t make a case for it. Has anyone found a good protection solution for the Iphone 6 on the jobsite?

I like keeping the clamps stored with the throat open so that if I am working on a project its easy to grab the clam and most of the time it will be able to just compress on the object rather than having to open it up first.

Since I primarily use my Stabila in the shop I came up with a quick way to mount it. I just took some 2″ conduit clamps and it screwed them into my wall. Works perfectly.

I can’t recall if I ever put up a pic of my new clamp rack but I must admit that I still love the functionality after using it for 9 months. The problem I ran into though it that it is not big enough. This is always the case in my small shop but I will just have to make do for now.
