Right. And batteries do fail. Maybe not as often as they used to, but they do. Cordless stuff is cool, and I love seeing new technology, but I’m not quite sold yet.

The only downside to batteries is the lack of power and recharge time. But when the batteries fit other tools that you already have… 🙂

Huh…that’s pretty neat, although he didn’t talk a lot about its use in battery technology. Probably won’t be seeing it for a while yet, but it’s definitely exciting to think about.

Tell me more about this Graphene…this is the first I’ve heard of it.

Thanks, Mark and John. Those are all excellent examples of reviews. It’s good to see such detail being put into them. It really helps when someone is sincerely looking at the saw as a potential future purchase. Thanks again, and great job!

I would imagine that just a few people would have the opportunity to test a tool or maybe two. Still, it would be mighty interesting to be one of the lucky one that would get to test something.

Yeah, I was going to mention…you shouldn’t have to hit the whatever two buttons. Just pressing print screen will do it. I tend to open Microsoft Powerpoint and save from there, (I wasn’t aware you could do it from paint) but I might try paint now. Yes, Ctrl+V is the command to paste.

Hmmm. The retaining walls I’ve built have never had that issue. As long as you have the proper drainage, it shouldn’t be a problem.

True, John. I’ve used a cheap battery powered string trimmer (not mine, I wouldn’t be caught dead owning one!) and it worked okay…if the grass was short. I really like the low noise and low vibration. But it had no power.
Of course, most of the cordless lawn and garden tools aren’t aimed at people that have a lot of acreage. But some are! I’d…[Read more] -

Matt replied to the topic 18v vs 20v – Case Closed at Last in the forum Cordless Power Tools 6 years, 10 months ago
Right, Matt. Exactly right. I don’t see how Dewalt is doing anything bad here, though, as someone mentioned above. I guess I just assumed everyone knew that 20v Max was essentially the same thing as 18v. I’m rather surprised at the number of people that weren’t aware.

Sven, what do you mean by grade break? Like a retaining wall, where the grade breaks, and drops straight off?

Yeah, there has to be a limit. But it’s kinda like calculus and limits. You can always keep on moving forward, but there is that one spot you just can’t reach. 🙂 Yeah, optimization is really something, and I think it’s especially noticeable in the power tool world.

Way too much moisture in that stuff, eh? I’ve had issues with it warping as it dries, does paint help with that at all?

Have any of you ever had the bad cells in the battery packs replaced? Individually, I mean?

I think I’m going to try one of the Daredevil blades for my table saw. I was pretty pleased with the reciprocating saw blades. What do y’all recommend toothwise for a general blade to rip and crosscut with? 40 a good number? (10″ blade)
