Installed my outfeed table. It came out OK….video in the future.
My contractor got another 3 windows installed. He had to knock off early as the element in his water heater died yesterday and his wife made it clear on no uncertain terms what she thought of having a cold shower…lol.
Truck went in for repairs and it was a lot less than I had…[Read more]

Boschmanbrian wrote:hopefully you can have a few of the windows open in the basement
All the windows have been covered over in my new shop. Not sure I will change that. Lighting control is one of those things important to making videos. I haven’t quite got that down yet, but once the shop is sorted out better I can work on it.
One thing I…[Read more]

I noticed that right away when I started editing. One of the things I miss a bit. I really liked that little shop. The new big shop doesn’t feel like “mine” yet. Perhaps once it is all organized it will. I can’t believe all the…[Read more]

My contractor crew knocked out about 5 windows today and got them replaced. The first one was hardest and involved a bit of rebuilding, so while they worked on the others I milled up the wood needed for that and got the trim put back on.
The owner says he knows 4 guys looking for rooms. They currently commute 2 hours one way to get to work by 6…[Read more]

Boschmanbrian wrote:Definitely will make a difference in keeping the heat in
I hope so. This place is a frightening cost to heat. I’ve been heating with wood for 15 years in the old place. It was cheap. Wood stoves are on the list of things to put in. (yes, stoves with an S, as in multiple)

A second coat of poly on the outfeed table today. Then I edited the last video on the potato bin and got it put up. Took delivery of a few windows and a big 42″ door plus sidelight for the house. 23 windows in all.

Did some more work on my little outfeed platform for the table saw. I had the bright idea that since I have multiple outlets now I ought to put the shop vac on the 1250 DEVS while sanding. What a difference. It worked great! I could get used to this.

Started on a new outfeed for the table saw. One that I can keep up in place while using the miter gauge and sled.

Fighting my sore back and a little more mucking about. More electrical…surprise! Found another feed wire from the panel that I had the breaker shut off to and marked it. Traced another wire to one of the little rooms in the shop. Found another hidden junction box in the ceiling…not surprised. So, after sussing it out and moving the box, I…[Read more]

Well, I sorted my stash of hardwood and got them into seperate bins. Not much but I am going to think up a few small projects to build on spec to see if they sell.
More guitar work. This time my own. Dang it’s filthy. It’s the electric I built and it’s been hanging on a wall for 4 years in a home heated by wood. Ewww. Anyways, just on a…[Read more]

Let’s Talk About Modern High Velocity Hammers
The physics is correct. The effect of velocity is squared. The thing that cinches the deal though is that everyone that I have heard that switched to a Martinez or Stiletto hammer won’t go back. Even at the crazy prices they ask for a titanium hammer.

Yeah, something like that. No loading bay or material handling equipment, so I guess I better start eating my Wheaties if I decide to give it a shot.
