Does anyone have any experience using a Supermax Tools Combo Brush / Drum sander, or any kind of brush sander? Looking for options to quickly sand profiled panels such as raised panel doors, carvings, ect.

Great review! Pocket holes are also great for a knock down type of joinery, especially if you want to ship a piece of furniture. You are able to ship it all flat pack (IKEA style) and once on site it can be built. This is what we use on our technical furniture, and we ship all across Canada and the US.

My tool of the day was this trim router, 45 degree chamfer bit and a custom base great for trimming hundreds of feet of edgebanding. Don’t have to worry about the grain direction, just pass the router along the edge it cleans it up nicely. Great to have if you do a lot of edgebanding, saves a lot of time!

Jamie replied to the topic Where do we buy our consumables (router bit's etc) in the forum Woodworking/Carpentry 3 years, 10 months ago
I purchase all of our fasteners, hardware and supplies from Richelieu. They have warehouses across Canada and the US for pickup, but we get everything shipped to our shop. Been dealing with them for over 5 years and never had any issues. Depending on the products, they’ll even send you samples if you are unsure or wanting to personally try it.

cmeyer25 wrote:@jamiem that’s a neat clamp have you ever used the Kregjig pocket hole clamps? It looks like they do the same thing, so I’d be interested to know how they compare. This one looks like it’s probably less expensive though. Everything from Kregjig seems a bit pricey.

@DirtyWhiteBoy I believe they are just called pocket hole clamps. I know Rockler sells them, Elite Tools in Canada, and you can find them on Ali Express too.

Just a note about the double edge trimmer, it works well with PVC or other materials, but not so well with veneer or any real wood edgebanding. You have to cut with the grain, if you don’t it will most certainly will cause tearout on the edgebanding.
If you plan on edgebanding a lot, I would suggest getting a trim router and either a 45 chamfer…[Read more]

Jamie replied to the topic Earlex 5500 Spray Station in the forum Paint, Stain and Coatings 3 years, 10 months ago
I bought one about 5 years ago to spray water based stains and top coats, it was fantastic to use. Not much over spray, quiet unit to run (not much louder than a shop vac) and easy to clean up. I wouldn’t want to spray any oil based products, and if you plan on spraying paint I would suggest a larger tip / needle, and might have to think the paint…[Read more]

My go to clamp for clamping stock to the workbench or clamping a jig or template is the Kreg Automax, these clamps are amazing. The clamps I use most often when assembling are the Bessey Duoklamps. They are lightweight and easy to handle with just one hand.

@r-ice,
The stain is an aniline dye, then 3 coats on each side of a pre-cat lacquer. Everything was sprayed using a HVLP system. The pre-cat lacquer is very durable, great for any type of work surface. -
