Garrett replied to the topic 2.0 ah or 4.0 ah batteries for 18v drill and impact? in the forum Cordless Power Tools 5 years, 2 months ago
I bought the impactor kit in 2014 and it came with 2 amp hour batteries. I love the size and weight especially when working in attics and crawl spaces. Last year I bought a kit with the 4 amp hour batteries. I still use the 2 on the impactor for most situations. I use the 4 on the heavy drill and reciprocating saw. I also got a free 5 amp battery…[Read more]

I may finally upgrade my ps40 now. I don’t use the 12v impactor nearly as much since I purchased an 18v but it still is handy in some situations.

Garrett replied to the topic switch timer in the forum Electrical 5 years, 2 months ago
Looking at the reviews on HD it looks like the problem may be that the dial may be binding on the faceplate. I really do not like mechanical timers because they have no back-up for power failures.
If the dial isn’t binding and the line and load side of the hot wires are correct, then I would take it back as a faulty timer. I have had good…[Read more]

Did it work at all when you first installed it? Is it possible you reversed the line and load? The mechanical nature of it would require it to be wired a specific way. If they were reversed it would lose time and quit turning the first time it hits the off cycle.

Garrett replied to the topic What is your trade/ specialty? in the forum Talk Around the Job Site 5 years, 3 months ago
I’m the son of a carpenter/contractor so I’ve been around the trades all my life. I’ve helped do most aspects of new construction and remodeling from foundation to roofing. A few years ago things starts to slow down around here so I branched out and became a licensed electrician. I enjoy tinkering so I also build and restore lamps. My sub…[Read more]

Garrett replied to the topic Bosch 12v tools in the forum Cordless Power Tools 5 years, 3 months ago
I started with the ps20/ps40 combo and a ps50 that were Christmas presents 5 years ago. I was so impressed with Bosch that I even bought the ps60 reciprocating saw. I had the ps50 omt replaced through warranty as well as two batteries. I used my ps20 almost daily. It finally died last August. I replaced it with a new ps22 brushless. Two weeks ago…[Read more]

No need for starting a new topic, so I’m a little late to this party too.
I just received my newest card reader from Square. I am excited to offer even more options for my customers to make payments. For starters, I have been using Square since I started. I am a single employee/owner of a small electrical business so it is perfect for me. Most…[Read more]

Garrett replied to the topic Dremel 3D printer in the forum Brand and Manufacturer Discussion 5 years, 3 months ago
I just saw this Dremel printer on display at Lowe’s. It still has a $999 price tag. They have a video and also some hands on items printed with one. If only I had $1500 to throw away. I would need the ribbons too.

Garrett replied to the topic Workmo by Sortimo – expanding the L-Boxx system in the forum Tool, Jobsite, Workshop Storage and Organization 5 years, 3 months ago
Thanks for sharing. That is a really neat way to stay organized in the shop or on the go. It seems much more functional than a traditional red tool box on wheels. I especially like the use of Bosch drill on page 25. Too many companies use old yellow for their tools in pictures.

Garrett replied to the topic What are you saving up for? Version 9 in the forum Talk Around the Job Site 5 years, 3 months ago
I really want to get the RHH181 18v rotary hammer since it would be the most practical for the times I end up carrying the generator just to use my bulldog. However, it seems so far away and now I’m wishing I had an L-boxx 3 for my circular saw and reciprocating saw. I also want the foam inserts for the 1 and 2. Then there are the blades for the…[Read more]

I use Contigo tumblers I bought at Walmart. They are 20 ounce and fit nicely in the cup holder. They do not sweat. I’ve had ice still in my cup the next day. They are spill proof when closed and cost less than $15 USD. I’m not a coffee drinker, but my wife is. She has her own and it keeps her coffee hot for hours. I think it claims 7 hour hot and…[Read more]

That is an amazing floor. Excellent craftsmanship. I wish the article had more of the process used, but then again maybe they didn’t want any copy cats out there.
Perhaps it is because I’m hungry, but does anyone else think it looks like bacon?

Garrett replied to the topic Bosch Tool Improvements and/or Changes in the forum Talk Around the Job Site 5 years, 4 months ago
I would like to see an 18v light similar to Milwaukee’s. I also feel the MX30 would benefit from a light. The bit extension/holder that comes with the PS22 needs some improvements. The bits themselves come out of the holder and often times the bit gets stuck in a screw and comes right out of the extension. I feel like the magnet inside it is weak…[Read more]
