    2. Tape the joists with Seam Tape
    3. Prime with Super Primer (2 coats)

I have used warm white vinegar to dissolve the hard water deposits.
What I also recommend is that you might benefit from a good water filtration system. Most city water quality is not very good. There are dirt, calcium, chemicals, and pharmaceuticals in the incoming water to our homes, bad for our health and for the life of our appliances. I end…[Read more]

  • I forgot to mention that I will need a natural gas unit.

  • I have two old conventional tanked water heaters that needs to be replaced. As i am doing the research, I am seeing lots of maintenance issues with the thankless water heaters. I would like to install good quality equipment so it does not require much maintenance effort in the long run. Appreciate your recommendations on best thankless and…[Read more]

    Charlie,
Andy and Brian is very experienced, they helped me out on my steam room project with great input.

I am hopping that before you installed the tiles, you prepared the wall behind fir proper waterproofing materials to avoid mold problems later.

If do, the only thing I might like to add is this: if you are filling a deep and/or wide gap…[Read more]

I wanted to share the finished Steam Room with the team. The only thing remaining is the glass door which is in process. This was definitely a learning process; thank you to everyone for your insights, recommendations, and guidance; I am satisfied with the end results at this time.

For the pedestal sink drain: I was able to find 12″ stainless…[Read more]

    Thanjs

  • I need a stainless steel pop up drain for a 13″ tall travertine vessel sink. The center hole is cut for 1 3/4″ diameter drain and the treaded part of the drain needs to be at least 8″ tall.

I am told there are this type of drains with the tread inside op the upper part is the drain that makes up with the lower pipe seamless without a color.…[Read more]

Great progress with the project. Granite and marble installation is completed; all looks good. This being a Roman style steam room, I will install traditional pedestal sink made of solid travertine ( called Kurna). In old times this vessel provided the running water in the steam chambers. Sink is 13″ h x 17″ W x 16″ d. I had to remove the…[Read more]

Great inputs, thank you for that.
    1. Just a response to MasterBosch Pro: Understand what you are talking about and agree with you.

On the fiberglass, I also plan to use Mapei Mapalistic Aquadefence Liquid waterproofing membrane. This product will serve two purpose: 1. further waterproof, 2. crack isolation up to 1/8″. I think this is the best…[Read more]

We wet laid the fiberglass pan, this is amazing product, 12″ wide sheets of fiberglass sheets with resin. It hardens into a hard shell sealing and waterproofing everything. Tomorrow we will float the floor over the fiberglass.
