This was more than a today I used my Bosch, more of “I finally finished my project” with my Bosch GCM18V-08, 4100, and DDS181. Wife wanted a bench for our deck, so I found some plans and got to work.
This one took me 4 weeks instead of 4 hours because I am a bonehead and injured myself, but that is a story for another day or a visit to Instagram…[Read more]

Regarding radios charging batteries.
There is not a single fact I can point to about this, but this is my thoughts on the subject.
Back with the original Power Box, the batteries were NiCad or NiMH. Simple chargers could easily charge them up without adding much to the bottom line.
Today’s high power Li-Ion batteries are some what (or a lot…[Read more]

Back in the SARS days, mid 2004ish, I was in China and Hong Kong and at the border going into China, you had to roll down your windows and everyone in the car was laser scanned to check temperature.
Going from China to Hong Kong we would get out of the car and walk across the border because the rules were stricter with a car load of people. They…[Read more]

Agree with pretty much everything said, my $0.02. (do Canadians say “just my $0.028 ?).
Thin kerf vs thick kerf also depends on how or what you are doing. I am confident that everyone here on BTP can make a blade with XX number of teeth, thin kerf and thick kerf cut the exact same way with the same wood finish on the cut. A careful slow and…[Read more]

I am looking out my window at a few inches of snow in my neighbor’s backyard. Earlier this week we had a few inches of snow that was gone by noon. I’ve committed to wearing shorts in protest of this weather.

And as far as Robert Bosch the man, if I remember correctly he was actively involved in stopping the NAZI regime. Don’t remember exact details, but he wasn’t sitting by watching.

Generally yes. However if we are comparing a framer that gets used outside and has changes for dirt and crap getting in the tool verses a finish gun in a shop that gets put back on a clean shelf every night… Well you see my point.
However, if we really want to dig into it, in theory, a finish gun left on a shelf for a while might be…[Read more]

Depending on how much use a nail gun has on it, you can easily give it a tune up.
Most pneumatic nailers are simple to swap out o-rings and seals. Generally they will sell complete kits for the entire tool.
Some manufacturers will glob some grease in the tool during assembly. Half or more of the grease usually ends up in some corner wasting…[Read more] -
