I think that it has a few issues with the fence not being aligned to the blade but also the fence itself not being totally vertical. This is giving me a few problems which smaller pieces (400mm X 30mm X 30mm) not being square in several directions. Not by a huge amount but as I’m mak… -

I saw Bosch Canada advertising on IG today – is the US version different? This one was single bevel, but I thought the new cordless miter was dual?

I’ve used a bunch of blue tools over the past few days, a lot of my OMT either cutting out sections of rotted deck railing or shaping the edge of a recessed space in the floor of the bathroom I’m renovating so I can fill the void. It was great for demo too – cut through a bunch of caulking!

I’ve been remodeling a bathroom this week. Tore out everything and am putting in a new tub and surround, built a short wall to enclose the space and will be continuing to finish it as the week continues.

My 4 lb maul saved the day today – I tried cutting apart this cast iron tub with a variety of different tools and blades, but just smashing it ended up being so much faster!

@boschmanbrian @gtokley I’ve been really liking the new Freak. It’s got a much shorter head and seems to run a bit quieter, which are both nice. I hate the light being down by the battery though – I always prefer to have it in line with the chuck, but that seems to be one of the main ways they cut length from the body. I haven’t really notic…[Read more]

I won’t be spraying any walls with it – just the furniture piece I’m making. For that it will be almost no prep and then the actual spraying will take a lot less time than than trying to brush it on.

This morning I spent a bit of time sanding the dog kennel top some more, met a client to discuss some future work and then pruned our apples tree.

@doobie @boschmanbrian I also just don’t know if there’s anything I do that REQUIRES a dust extractor…
I don’t do very much concrete drilling and when I do I either use the onboard extractor on the tool or my canister vac because I’m not doing a ton all at the same time. So is it worth it to haul that big extractor out to a site? I mean, I…[Read more]

My TOTD was my new worm drive saw. This week I cut five stringers for a set of stairs and I was loving getting to do it with this saw verses my cordless circular saw. It’s a ton heavier, but it’s so smooth and powerful! And it cut perfectly straight without a bit of deviation. I’ll be bringing it on more job sites for sure!

I have a bunch of painting to do so I picked up a little electric sprayer. It’s going to save me SO much time. And the reviews were decent enough for what I’ll be using it for. I’m no commercial painter so I should only be using it for smallish projects.

It’s been a bit since I updated but this week I replaced some rotted deck boards and built a set of stairs, and hung a few interior doors. I’m starting to chase down more work for the upcoming months, but it’s getting a bit slower than it has been over the summer.

Now that I just got my worm drive saw, I’m not sure what to save up for…the dust extractor has always been on my list but it’s such a high point value item it’s hard to set my sights on it…I’m much more capable to saving for something like another FL12, lol. But maybe the cordless OMT.
