The grinder works very easily on crown, where a coping saw or jigsaw doesn’t handle the angled cut back from the face as easily. In my experience.

….
Yes — the Collins Coping foot is available for Bosch and maybe a few other brands.Depends on the Bosch, by the way. Check before you buy – as of a couple of years ago, the Collins coping foot was not available for my model of Bosch.

Was the water underneath due to the flange? Maybe – it’s a little hard to figure out what’s due to what in this place. And thanks for the welcomes – I’ve been a member for a while, but not active at all.

Maybe junky rather than flawed. Demoed this today – soft-body wall tile installed on the floor in a bathroom, with mastic. Lots of water under the tiles.

Robert replied to the topic 5" ro sander or rectangular sanders, which do you prefer? in the forum Power Sanders 5 years, 5 months ago
Many of the ROS sanders – the Festools, the Bosches, etc. – have somewhat of a dual action, and under light pressure and with an aggressive paper, will spin freely and remove material very quickly. They are a much more useful tool than the square sanders. They also, by virtue of having paper with holes (compared to the square sheet sanders) do a…[Read more]

I’ve had the Bosch 4000 for maybe a dozen years, and it’s been a great saw. I Just ordered a new bearing and main shaft to get a few more years out of it. I’d definitely check out the 4100 if I were looking for a new one.

Robert replied to the topic Clamps in the forum Woodworking/Carpentry 6 years, 6 months ago
I’ve had great results with dedicated edge clamps for shelves and other edging/nosing applications. Easy to use, easy to adjust the edging/nosing if needed. I greatly prefer them over pipe clamps for gluing edges.

Robert commented on the post, How to Manually Sharpen Chisels and Planes 6 years, 6 months ago
I don’t know any pro who still uses stones and oil. Most occasional sharpeners, who don’t get enough practice to be any good at it, and who don’t have access to a power water stone or other mechanized sharpening tools, would be much better off using a honing guide and wet-dry sandpaper on glass or stone. IMO.

Of course it’s illegal. Of course cops do it all the time. I’d get over it and do the job. Skillman’s right about it being a solid referral chain.

Gloves – the heavy, inexpensive type – can significantly reduce the vibrations from many power tools.

For temporary labeling during work, labeling is great. Afterward, I view any label, including my own, as untrustworthy, and test everything as thoroughly as if the label did not exist.

A cordless driver/drill is much more useful than corded. Pick a decent brand and stick with it.

I have the Festool TS55. I got rid of my panel saw immediately, and I no longer use my table saw to cut sheet goods. I do still use the table saw to rip thin stock and cut dados.
I use the track connectors […]
