@brianpeters yes its like that way on purpose. It has a spring with a little bit of slop. The tool vibrates at such a high frequency that the little bit of slop isolates the vibrations from the battery so it doesn’t cause any harm to it.

@xtsallad probably not worth upgrading that. The starlock is faster, you can see from the video. But the non starlock bosch still beats most other omt’s out there. Especially if its something you don’t use a ton.

The flexvolt line up has been out for a little over a year and a half. When released the full size cordless miter box was released, the first of its kind and still to this day the only cordless 12″ miter box. Dewalt has been making miter saws for a while but is the cordless one just as good as the corded?
The 120v uses Two 60v (54v nominal)…[Read more]

Dual bevel is really cool. I have been using the DeWalt cordless miter and it’s held good calibration out of the box. The DeWalt has no dual bevel though and I think it also weighs more than the Milwaukee. Flexvolt or 5ah batteries and it’s never had anything it won’t cut either. No problem,I have heard rumor…[Read more]

Oscillating muti tools have become a staple in any carpenters tool box in the last decade. Some jobs that are easily done with one now may make you wonder how you ever did a job without it before. Several advancements in the last years have made them even better than before. Bosch partnered with Fein to develop a new blade attachment design that…[Read more]

Last summer Milwaukee announced their new cordless miter box and was released at the end of 2017. Milwaukee sent me this saw for review. A miter box is one of a trim carpenters most important tool but without it being accurate it might as well be a boat anchor. So out of the box it was very important to check the saw for accuracy. A few things…[Read more]

@madman_us I like the flex volt stuff a lot. gobs of power. The battery size doesn’t matter so much on the miter box. I put 2 9.0s on it. on the grader i Use the 6.0 and its heavy but surprisingly vey balanced

What’s the drop on the ProCore batteries? The slim pack looks real weird, is it the slim version of the Cores that we have right now?
The planer looks real interesting too…
The slim pack is 5 21700 cells wich should provide 3.5ah. Should be significantly smaller than the current 4ah fat pack with the same power. Thi…[Read more]

Older slotted screws are the only thing I save. Some people like that older look of slotted screws. They add a nice look especially if you are restoring something old.

Finally pulled the trigger on the 18v starlock omt. Also got the graco cordless ultra sprayer for an upcoming job. Then I went to Home Depot and picked up a Milwaukee rocket light that came with a free 5.0 battery for 199. I had a 100 dollar gift card that was burning a hole in my pocket that made it an awesome buy.
