all construction was declared essential here in NJ, now all non-essential construction must cease. but there’s like 199 exceptions so it hasnt affected my work

i live in NJ and our governor declared all non-essential jobs to stay home or work from home but thankfully he declared construction as “essential” along with manufacturing trucking etc. they have limited crew numbers to 20, but the job i’m at we only have like 7 on our crew anyway. this job is supposed to finish up in a few weeks anyway. then…[Read more]

those dewalt bit holders have been around forever and always come in kits i buy, but i rarely use them since i’m always just using a normal magnetic bit holder with small bits rather than those long bits those holders work with

thankfully, the answer to this question changes often. most rectently, i’m doing a lot more concrete formwork and working with different systems

today was a rain day, so we got to the job at 7 and watched safety videos in the trailer til about 9 when the rain slowed up to a drizzle then worked til 12 when it started pouring again. then called it a day.

nothing crazy, just stopped at home depot on the way home from work tonight and grabbed a 3pack of of head lights and a small garden trowel since we’re digging 180 30″ deep by 10″ wide holes drilled in 6″ concrete slabs

spent yesterday volunteering at a homeless warming station they’re building. place used to be an old butcher shop and was in very bad shape so they had to gut and replace everything. i was on taping duty all day

had to go around and patch all these butcher holes the electricians cut in walls to put their boxes in cause the GC won’t let them do cut ins
