I was watching a video recently where the presenter had found patents that Milwaukee tools had filed showing some interesting potential developments like a Packout compressor….I’ll try to find it and post it somewhere in the forum (just because it’s pure speculation).

So what did you receive @asevereid

And I wonder what others have received recently

I redeemed for two pair of hinge mortise bits in late January. I received 3 of the 4 bits last week.
Didn’t even know they were on the way until the shipping company contacted me.

I received my box but was short on the items I requested….Can I get an update on the stock so that I can place another request?

This feels like deja vu in regards to a suspender question…..

Regardless….Tajima is a great brand, Milwaukee has a great aluminum body chalk line available, Irwins are affordable but work well.

What is your primary trade or requirement for a chalk line, @Olivert ?

I second (and third) the recommendations to get a proper foam installation gun. If you’re doing it often enough it’s a headache saver. Also, the tip about keeping the spray can of gun cleaner on hand is priceless.

    There’s a couple that come to mind….
Try searching for Buckaroo Leatherworks and Akribis Leather. Both companies offer premium suspenders/braces that might offer what you’re looking for.

Tell me about it….the price of a workstaion is ridiculous.
I’m currently looking for one to run Chief Architect on and I’m getting sticker shock every time.

Anyone having a real hard time loading this web site?

To go to any forum here it takes about 30 seconds for me. This seems to be the same on Firefox or Chrome, on desktop (Windows) or mobile (Android 9). No such issue with other web sites at all.

This page has always (and I mean as far back as when I posted regularly) loaded slow on mobile.
I’ve tried it on three different browsers (Firefox, Chrome, and Puffin) with similar results. Not sure why, but it has always been slow to do the initial page load, but then every other link performs just fine after that initial loading.

The page has been restored on mobile as well, using Chrome.

Appears to be fixed now while viewing with my version of Firefox.
The new post reply toolbar looks promising.

My Collins miter clamps arrived today. I didn’t order the pliers with them, so I’ll have to go out and get a pair.

I quoted and replied to two separate posts today in the “What did you do today…” thread and they never even appeared.
It looks like I’ve received the points for posting, but the replies aren’t there.

Not sure why these posts need approval. I fixed them.

    Might be the spam filter.
I’ve got a fairly dormant account that’s suddenly been posting more frequently. But this place has always been a little screwy.

Odds and ends….trying to finish up this reno I’ve been working on sine the 6th of December.
Today was fabricating trim to support a 4′-6″x 3′ mirror, helping the sparky cut in some outlets on the kitchen island, and plumbing in a sink while troubleshooting the drain on another.

Sounds like a pretty busy day , what’s the problem with the drain , I saw your post on IG , some really nice looking work.

Thanks Brian, Not entirely sure what caused the issue with the drain…either poor workmanship on our part, or a cheap drain assembly. The seal between the sink flange and the pipe that stubs in to the trap wouldn’t seal correctly. I removed it and added a flat silicone washer and teflon taped the threads on the assembly before tightening it up as much as I felt was safe. Stopped leaking after that.

Hope you get it done soon. Is anyone living in the house?

Yes, the HO moved in on the 23rd of December and we got back in there on the 15th of January to take care of the deficiencies ans install the cabinets after they finally arrived. The appliances were also late. We just got the countertops installed the other day after all the supplier delays. Now I just have to install the backsplash that came as a late in project request before I can get out of there.

Received a new Bosch laser distance measure yesterday. Won it on Instagram courtesy of @boschtools.
    It’s the Bosch glm 50 c.

Wohoooo congrats. Looking forward to hearing from you about that. It’s a nice little model.

I like it already….it’s replacing my GLM 42, so I’m already familiar with it. The extended range is a going to be a bonus for doing foundations and the readout is simpler to understand. The only downside is that the Bluetooth app is currently not available in the app store. I was really looking forward to trying to use it with a dedicated tablet for either setting up a cutlist or doing takeoffs for renos.

Picked up some Klein auto wire strippers and got my new BabeBot glue bottle in the mail.
Figured it was time to replace the old BabeBot….mainly because I let my glue harden up in it….
