He coulda just bought some T1-11 siding rather routering all the grooves himself.

Your right could have just used T1-11 siding. But he would have made any content for YT.
I never knew that was called T1-11 siding. I have saw before. Just never knew the name.

I’ve also seen it sold as Chalet Siding.

T1-11 has a rough sawed finish to it. The grove has a tapered edge to it also.

Cool Upcycled Wood Boxes Using Salvaged Wood

Contributing Editor A.J. Moses makes a business out of using salvaged wood. In fact, he calls his company Castaway Woodworks because so much of the material he uses has, literally, been cast away by someone else. He takes a lot of pride in giving those materials new life

Talking about salvaged wood! I was up at the Lazy Piggs house over the weekend and @jpp has a bunch of new boards on the fence. He told me his friend has a demand for old rustic looking wood and buys the old ones for 8$ one and the new ones cost 4$ one.. So the fence is slowly getting new boards.

I actually run my belt sander over each panel before putting them up. Each sheet just takes a couple of minutes. I didn’t want the bury face as I felt it was just gonna attract dust and spider webs.

The LP Smart Side has a wood grain finish but with a smooth skin on it. No sanding needed.

I would like the rough finish look.

That’s why they use T1-11 for the look of it. I have never heard of sanding the look of it away.
