Here is a little project my sister asked me to do for her for her wedding. I also did two small ring boxes for her. I am trying to find pictures of them and I will post it later.

    Cheers,
    Mark

    How is the rope attached?

Make it three of us who wonder where it goes. One could chainsaw off the slab to make it light enough to hang on a wall.

Neat idea. I’m with the others on where it will be displayed. I do like Lons idea hanging it on the wall.

Another here who has never seen or heard of a wedding log.
Cut down and hung would be a good idea. Maybe cut it up and make some sort of box for mementos?

Hanging it on the wall or over the fire place would be nice.

I’ve seen one setting outside between two garage doors before. What method did you use to remove the bark?

I think at the wedding itself it would go good near a gift table / card box / memory book sorta setting.

    Looks nice though.

that makes alot of sense, i’ve seen other decorations like that before. someone did a large framed wood thing at the door at one wedding we went to that was similar in idea to this.

Yes, I can see it used that way at the wedding. I would use it that way and than cut the log down to size to hang on the well after the honeymoon.

But where do you put something like this after the actual wedding? It looks neat, but I’d be afraid it would collect dust afterwords.

It would be nice to know how big the log is. If it could fit on a fireplace mantel, that would be OK.

lol i am sure everyone who is married here has some knick knack from the wedding the wife has saved and gathering dust somewhere in the house. it’ll be the same, probably on the mantle piece or something like that.
