Im surprised how clean of cut that makes , I thought it might chew up the wood a bit but it didn’t .
I have been very interested in the Japanese Saws lately and have watched may Tube videos. I’m impressed at how well they work.
Considering for many a decade Westerners have cut on the push and they cut on the pull.I only have one, a little dovetail saw, but it is a pleasure to work with. Definitely got the urge to get more.

I had a really nice (expensive) one about 30 years ago, traded it for my first computer. Man I wish I hadn’t done that.“If you don’t pass on the knowledge you have to others, it Dies with you”

I have a modern Ryoba from Lee Valley. I have never got along too well with it. I seem to do better with a western style saw that cuts on a push stroke. I have seen some people do some nice work with the pull saws though.

ProTimber framing/carpentry was introduced to Japan by China a couple centuries before it really became “Japanese style”. They really took the knowledge shown to them and took it to another level…
Re: Maloof video, alreadt posted it long time ago, but I still watch it again.

Any guy who drives an expensive car like that through water isn’t very bright and doesn’t appreciate the value of a car like that .

No curb where the front pad was poured either? All I could envision is a good rain storm and he’s having to deal with a pool in there.

No perimeter drainage around the slab, either, or floor drains.
