How was there framing Dirty? They do it right? Or are you having to fix some of it?

It was a friggen night mare!!! All the joist had to be unnailed and come up to the ledger about 1/4 to 3/8 of an inch and now we have the whole front section is 1/2″ low…..

Oh man I hate redoing someone elses work.
I bet it’s done right this time!
Had a little more shop time. Got most of the doors for rerun cut out. And got the adjustable shelves all cut out and the nose put on them.

Okay, so here’s the wood shade installed on that light from Tuesday’s job. The artisan lathes them out of aspen, like you would turn a wooded bowl, I guess. Then has a 2nd artisan create the motif, carved with woodburning mixed in. I have to say, it is pretty spectacular in person. I didn’t ask, but his site lists the ceiling fixtures as $1,000 – $2,000. All totaled, the customer spent a small fortune, but she is supremely pleased.

Went out today, found a proper axe handle. Will get at it when I make the time.

Spent part of the day doing a bit of chip carving, the started to read Gary Rogowski’s new book “Handmade, creative focus in the age of distraction”. I am really enjoying the journey.

That must be a big deck you are working on. What is the size?

Is this the place you showed the huge stack of IPE sitting inside a while back?
