Well I saw that salesman last night , and I decided to order the GMC canyon pick up , supposed to get it within 3 months 🤷‍♂️

Unless something else comes up 🙄🤞

So I guess you decided not to get full size truck then? Three months won’t be long coming around.

No , not this time , maybe in the next few years , who knows , this will fit my needs for now ,

Dang it , more friggin car problems 😭😭 last night after work , my car was giving me a light show lol
This morning it doesn’t start , tried boosting it with another car , called the tow truck it’s going back to the garage , I have a feeling it’s the altinator , hopefully it won’t be too expensive , I’m starting to look forward for getting the new truck eventually lol
I just don’t have the energy and time to start fiddling around with it

LoL got fed up with waiting for the tow truck , it was 2 hours , I called them back to cancel , went to CT bought another battery , changed it , started my car , drove it to the garage , waiting for the mechanic to do a charging test , hopefully it’s not the altinator 🤞

Did you find out the issue. Your alternator could still be the issue.

I picked up my car last night , drove it one block away , and turned around and brought it back to the garage , as soon as I drove away , the battery light came back on , and the windshield wipers are really slow , I put a brand new battery in yesterday before bringing it to the garage , my guess is the altinator , just from past experiences with cars around the similar milage 🤷‍♂️
Oh well that’s how it goes owning a car or truck ,

What work did the garage do? Lucky you turned around or you would have killed your new battery.

Hahaha nah , if you ever had electric problems with a car , you will know it’s sometimes not easily detected first time , lots of variant not like mechanical problems ,
Like I mentioned earlier a few posts above , myself and the mechanics both though it could be either the battery or alternator , his 3 tests on the charging system came out saying that the altinator was okay , like I said electric problems can vary big time , battery , altinator , and God forbid it’s the computer , the altinator has diodes inside , they can be touchy with power , even from the temperature outside ,
No garage or mechanic is God 🤷‍♂️ especially when trying to solve electric problems , unless you bring it to a specialist in electrical , then get ready to pay much more than the typical garage hourly rate ,

I just knew you said it could be the alternator. You didn’t mention you found out anything out.

I have a had 2 electrical problems with my vehicles. One problem was the alternator. I was told it was ok. It only last a few days and I had replace it. Left me on the road.

Yeah it’s hard to diagnose sometimes , I was lucky I was a few blocks away from home , never fun when you breakdown , especially if you are far away from home ,
Hopefully you were not far away.

One time I had an electric problem with my Nissan Sentra , the car had 135 thousand klms , the tow truck brought it to the garage , they said it was the battery , after changing it , about a week later , same thing , it stalled , next they said oh has to be the altinator , 🤷‍♂️ about a week later , same thing happened , next they said , oh it’s probably the starter 😡😡🛑 I said wait , nevermind , I’ll pick it up after work , I went back home , and Saturday morning , I pulled apart the dash around the ignition , and under the steering wheel , 🤯🤯 with a 5 dollar tester , and about two hours later , I found out what it was , it turned out it’s the wiring for the vallet switch for the remote starter , darn electric problems lol.

Yes I was about 40km away from home. I was on my way to get a alternator when I it die. I had to get a ride to get a new alternator. Replaced it myself in a parking lot.

Oh that’s not fun , hopefully the weather was pretty good , I’ve changed a few altinators in my years , I have to say , the these last two cars I’ve had , very difficult to do , the escape and the Sorento both needed to have other parts removed to get to the altinator , the Sorento it’s either way remove the radiator or the a/c compressor and it’s mostly done by underneath 😕
If I was better equipped , I might try to get it done myself ,
The cars were way easier , but the two SUVs , maybe because it was the fact that they were V6 making it harder to get to the altinator , oh well , I guess these are the joys of owning a vehicle ,
Was that on your truck , I assume it’s easier to get to on bigger pick up trucks ,

No. It was on a car I had. It was too bad to change.

I changed the water pump on the truck I have now and it wasn’t that easy of a job. There was maybe more room. There is always something in the way.

Just an update , it’s been approximately 5 weeks , , apparently they had shut down the production line in Missouri where they are making the midsize pickup trucks , they apparently started back up this past Monday , they are having shortages with the semiconductor chips ,
Hopefully it will be ready by the beginning of June 🙏🤞

Wow that’s too bad. There is a delay in getting your new truck.

I just saw the other day a friend of is laid off. He works in factory that makes auto parts.
