I ordered today online the CCS180 (18V cordless circular saw) from lowes and received a phone call that it’s ready for pickup.
I also paid 55 bucks for it, same as the 18V recip saw on clearance.
Picture is coming tomorrow because I have to pick it up first.

Still missing the 36V recip saw “for my collection” lol

I have the 36V recip saw, only 36V Bosch tool I have. It is really nice and packs a punch.

That’s an excellent deal – your Lowes must really be trying to clear the shelves!

What’s you plan for your second saw?

Is that the kit with the Core battery? Surely not.

    That’s my first CCS180

No it’s not. It’s the CCS180 bare tool (with the old handle)
So I will send it in for the handle replacement.

Is there a differance in the model number in that one and the one that takes the 6.3ah battery??

model number is the same for the saw, just a different one for the kit.
all old stock CCS180, pretty much the bare tool saws still have the old handle.
the Saw+Core kit has new the handle. (CCS180-B14)

Without making my first cut with the CCS180 I send it out today to the “local” Bosch Power Tools Factory Service Center to get the handle replaced, so I rock my CORE batteries with it. Packed up only the saw and left everything else here.

Nice you get to use the original box for packing.

I accidentally went and packed mine for its handle swap with a battery on it when I sent it in. When it came back I initially was a little perplexed by seeing a battery sitting alone in the box til I realized it was me who had sent it in with the battery on it and the tech had simply removed it to do his work. Doh!

I was in Lowes today and see they have a whole isle of Craftsman stuff.

I wrapped the CS up in bubblewrap as extra protection plus the inner cardboard piece. I will see how it gets returned.

It is possible that you can send it in with the battery, you only have to mark it with the e-return or in the request.
battey “has to be” attached to the saw regards transportation laws, but it’s weird that the technician just left it off when he send it back to you.

I am curious how long it takes for the replacement.
I dropped it off on saturday, but how it looks like it’s still there, so I guess it will get shipped monday morning.

I also got that saw awhile back for $ 42.50. I guess I’m too lazy, I took my OMT and about 30 seconds of my time and made the Core battery adjustment. I know, I know, I probably voided the warranty…

First of all, did you send it in specifically as a handle swap out. Seems they are using only certain repair facilities, or possibly a third party, for the swap outs. Send it in to the wrong place they will just be sending it out to a correct one which will add a week to he whole affair.

IIRC I called in for the repair ticket instead of e-repair online. Not sure.

Mine was dropped off at a UPS store late on a Saturday and I was told it would ship on Tuesday after a holiday Monday and was back in my hands Thursday that same week.
