I just had this thought:
Most people who work in metal fab shops have several grinders on hand. Each loaded with something different. With the X-lock I wonder if they will sell less grinders?

They really have to be kidding with the tool names, Bosch deccided to continue with the Freak type names and gave every new tool a new name. LOL

yeah I gree there is a lot of cool stuff in the pipeline for NA but they went a bit overboard on the “Freak” type names for them.

MEGAWATT is definitely a response to Milwaukee’s FUEL and Ridgid’s OCTANE!
January 22, 2019 at 9:30 pm #711685Yeah, the names are way over the top. But I was happy to see a cordless miter saw and a new brushless circular saw. Those have both been long overdue. I can’t wait to hear more about their specs and see some comparisons to other tools already out on the market. I wonder if they’ll come out with a cordless table saw soon, or if they’re waiting on something (like a retooled Reaxx or something?)

January 22, 2019 at 10:01 pm #711698Would be nice if they make it to the reward list

Is there some sort of Avengers theme here?
I am interested in the 6″ small angle grinder. That one fitted with a cutting dust shroud may allow me to cut into 2″ thick plaster walls and ceiling. Most likely with an X-lock mounting though.
The HELL-ION max charger is 16amps? It needs 16amps so you need a 20A receptacle to charge?

To me it looks they are going after the younger buyer that wants a tool with a cool name.I’m just happy that that for 2019 they have a few more tools coming to NA. The line-up is below. Somebody worked overtime on the nicknames. The new Charger looks nice. Some of the tools are already out like the “The Freak” and “The Misfit” but others are new.

Fayetteville, NCJanuary 23, 2019 at 9:45 am #711782Very interesting approach, I don’t have a problem with it, and I know that somewhere on this forum there was a discussion about how only fanboys knew the model numbers of tools, so maybe having distinct names makes sense. I hope this makes more Bosch tools available in NA, and of course on the redemption list if only to allow more of them out in the market.
