2017 sounds like it’s going to be a good year for bosch and I figured we could just have a thread for anything that comes out this year. There are a fee things that I noticed are new
This corded bandsaw just popped up on the website
https://www.boschtools.com/us/en/boschtools-ocs/bandsaws-gcb10-5-146223-p/Also Bluetooth tools are coming
There are a few other non confirmed rumors like the 18v flexiclick multihead drill, track saw, eneracer batteries.

ModeratorStill no word on a Bosch beer fridge eh? 😭
January 7, 2017 at 8:34 am #602030The connected tools are pretty neat. I’m excited for the flood light, I wouldn’t mind a couple for the short and dark winter days on my job sites with hardly any power.
January 7, 2017 at 8:38 am #602037Doesn’t Bosch have an annual new tool announcement like at World of Concrete or elsewhere? I wonder what else we will see in 2017.
January 7, 2017 at 8:51 am #602043interesting.. they have teh tracker devices too.. im getting 10 of the milwaukee ticks to review over at tbb .. they should be arriving in about 2 weeks or so
we need to see a brushless circ saw from bosch this year.. do not fall behind like hitachi didheres a tip, dont fart in a space suit
January 7, 2017 at 8:54 am #602045I’m very excited!!! I would think bench-marking will be much more precise with the connectivity.

January 7, 2017 at 11:30 am #602086@bethepro any chance we will see the new bandsaw on the list? Will they be looking for testers for this one? That’s a tool that I’ve been waiting for Bosch to release for a while now. I’d love to see how it compares to the Milwaukee.
January 7, 2017 at 11:44 am #602090really interesting with the tracking. looking forward to seeing more upgrades like this.

ModeratorHas anybody seen if the GIC 120 C is announced or in one of their catalogs yet?
On a side note. Did anybody happen to notice the fellow’s name tag in the video that Austin posted in the first post of this thread he started is none other than Kevin Enke A.K.A @kevin6?
Nice to connect a face to the name. He’s an excellent presenter imo. I’d never seen him in a Bosch video.

Pro Tool Reviews has a video of them. Looks like the light comes out in January and the rest come in June, including the new (brushless?) grinder. The drills seem like they’re just connected versions of what the HDS183/HDH183.

Oh here we go with the bluetooth models. I wonder whatelse they gonna come out with bluetooth.is thenew grinder brushless. I hope it is

Looks like some new tools on the horizon. Can’t wait for more info.
After watching This Old House the other day. I can see were some of this Blue Tooth stuff will have it’s advantages. (I have always been skeptical of the value of it to some point) They showed some of the features on the Bosch Relaxx saw. And how with the bluetooth you could limit who uses the saw. This could be a great way to keep only the people you want to use your saw or tools able to do so.
I think some of the Bluetooth connected stuff is a little gimmicky but some of it has its uses. This is only the beginning of this kind of tech. I am sure as time goes on we will find more and more uses for it.
Aside from modifying the LED light and soft start, where is the practicality in this? IMHO, it just seems like another feature to jack the price up,

Disabling it so the wrong people can’t use it, tracking, adjusting the kickback sensitivity, setting for things like using a tap or not worring about overtighting fasteners. I am sure they will find even more uses.

Limiting access to a tool like the Reaxx is a huge step in the right direction. Training is necessary for all power tools and the ability to allow only those with training to use those tools completes the circle.
Kudos to Bosch for this development.
Man I am glad I don’t work on some of your jobsites. I haven’t ever felt the need to limit the use of my tools on site. We work with the same subs and they are pros who respect other peoples stuff. Still haven’t seen a valid reason for the gimmicky features of this or OneKey.

Yeah maybe, but haven’t we been getting along just fine without Bluetooth tools?

My thoughts exactly. I have no desire to lock tools.
Maybe we can have this thread and the following one amalgamated?

Palm Springs, CAJanuary 8, 2017 at 12:23 pm #602336i like the idea of the reaxx saw having a bluetooth lockout on it. or atleast a keycode pad on it .. via bluetooth the saw will only work if someone with the connectivity to it has to be within 8 or 10 ft . definitely a worthwhile thing to have in union shops or for companies where other trades try to get on the saw and even labors or greenhorns

January 8, 2017 at 12:52 pm #602345Good thread to be following,
Some interesting things look like they will be coming out soon.
@Austin thanks for getting this going.January 8, 2017 at 8:22 pm #602389@madman_us I like the starlock and that spot light, I could see myself adding one or both to my tools, the corded potable saw is cool, but probably not going to get used much for my needs.
Good finds by the way thanks.
January 8, 2017 at 8:40 pm #602391I am definitely looking forward to the 18V starlock OMT. I want a cordless unit lol. I like the LED which the mxh180 doesn’t have.
Yes the floodlight is really nice haha I speak out of experience 😛two items in the new category which I couldn’t decipher at all.

Is that battery along the same lines as the 9.0 Dewalt or Milwaukee new battery packs . Will it need a fast charger as well .
