    Was with my daughter house hunting and I can’t believe the stuff that is out there. Unfortunately only one picture of a light switch with timer built in for the side door exterior light.

    Nothing what a tube of caulking can’t fix 😛 😛
    great find Frank

    I got outbid on that house by another 50k , even with that there, i wanted the house. could’ve been fixed.

    I have a few real estate agent clients of whom one of them sent me some post sale listings on some houses in my neighborhood last week which I had asked her to send me as I was curious what houses were selling for. All have sold for 75 to 200K over listing price and were mere days on the market.

    There’s one of them that sold accross the street from me earlier this month where I saw about 10 cars parked on my street for its bidding war. It’s definitely a sellers market out there. I was just curious what houses were going for in my neighborhood. I figure mine with its 1970’s kitchen and original bathroooms could sell right now for close to a million possibly. It’s just nuts right now.

    ???? Is the plate sitting on top of the trim on the nook ?

    Sure looks that way! The bottom screw is missing…because it was too short I guess.

    @sprokitz
    @jponto07 The box was not sitting on the nook, just the angle of the picture.
    Being an exterior wall, most likely 1″ strapping under the drywall, they used a gang box that was too deep.

    Could be. Not everybody knows of shallow boxes as BB stores don’t always seem to sell them. It could also be they had no clue how to set it. Like I said HO job likely. Any reno contractor doing that should be electrocuted! Lol!

    What they are not building any new houses in your area Kevin? Nothing like a good building binge to depress the housing market.

    There are lots of new houses being built, too. Speculators are buying them 3, 4, 5 at a time before the walls are even up. When they are finished they sell the right to close the deal for a nice profit. Values increase enough to make it worthwhile in the time it takes to build the house.

    Other than tearing down old ones and building a monster, nothing new gets built around here within walking distance. The area here was built in the 60-70s. It’s a mature area here.

    Same here – nothing resembling a vacant lot exists, and some sales are even pure land value and no inspection allowed, assuming a total teardown

    @jponto07 wow, that’s a special one 😉
    What the heck is this lol
    Guess they either bought the window for nothing, or just didn’t know how to properly measure and order one.
    And definitely install one

    Well, it was leaking…and the idiot decided it needed to be replaced. The original window was probably 4-5 years old too.

    From there, he bought a Lowes window that was way to small and somehow decided to inset the thing rather than surface mount it…hence the little jog in the drywall.

    The guy who is responsible calls himself a contractor too…

    Wow, that’s incredible, cost him more in extra material and labor than doing it right the first time lol

    I guess I take it for granted that most everyone can do most jobs.
    I guess I’m underestimating my worth.

    This guy would rather spend money and let others know he did so than fix something the proper way. He’s a real piece of work.
