Tesla launched the new Cyber Truck recently. Here is the video.

    Couple of interesting points:

    (1) Built-in 110v/220v outlet.
    (2) Built-in air compressor.
    (3) Built-in ramp up to the truck bed.
    (4) Out tows the F150. 0-60mph faster then Posche 911.

I can’t comment on the look. Kind of reminds me of a oversized Delorean.

Oh at 7:57 on the video, they were showing the shattered proof glass, and the glass broke during the demo. Stock went down 20+ points today LOL.

Would you consider this truck? Having a built in generator and compressor is not bad.

How many of us are ready for new concepts? I am looking forward to seeing some more on this before making a snap judgement.

    It’s definitely different looking
I personally don’t like the look of it , I do however like some of the things/technology like the 110 /220 and the built in compressor
It definitely would be interesting to see how it looks and holds up to the Canadian winter , love to see how it would do after a few years working in the dirt ,sand , mud from farms or job sites , I could see that tailgate being problematic getting full of grud.
Going to be interesting to see those real world testing by someone who’s not bias

Looks like it was designed by a 4th grader with a ruler. That is ugly. I think Elon got his meds mixed up.

LOL!! You could be right. You wonder what goes people’s heads when they are designing things.

I thought they were trying to show concept of the vehicle and were hiding the final design. Can’t say I would want to own a “wedgee” and drive it down the road.

It could still be somewhat “concept” at this stage as it doesn’t go into production till 2021 but you can reserve one for $100 now.

I read that part of the reason it is shaped this way is to reduce cost (low “polygon count”) and still be able to sell it for under 40K with indestructable cold rolled armored steel. It also has no rear view mirrors everything is computer cameras mounted all over? Seats six people and the truck body can rise or lower from the wheels with a button.

It looks weird but not any uglier than a hummer LOL.

    Ugly car for sure.
Probably the design is inspired from those planes that reflect radar signal.

Definitely not my cup of tea. I’ll stick with gasoline engines for now.

    I don’t mind if it’s electric/battery , it’s just to pretty for a truck LoL
It’s even more sporty and fancier than the majority of SUVs
I’ll stick with the basic truck style for now.
Don’t get me wrong , I like technology , but I just can’t see this in a construction environment yet , I’m sure we will see other manufacturers putting in those other Fancy gadgets in the trucks eventually , or even making them options.

Funny I just saw this about the Tesla pick up

Tesla should have stayed with that concept version of the truck.

The whole concept of stressed skin vs body-on-frame design is a game changer. The controversial shape aside, it is light years ahead of competition in so many ways. I believe the external appearance was presented this way with the sole purpose of engaging discussions about the design elements of the vehicle itself.

Instead of just repeating “it’s ugly”, lets talk about what it will do in real terms; load carrying, inside space, towing capacity, road clearance, economy. There are a number of reviews available, how do the reviewers opinions stack up with your needs in a truck.

60K Canadian gets you a new truck with a good range of options. That’s in the mid range of the Tesla. I know I would not be making a decision on a new truck without checking it out thoroughly.
