Wow, thanks guys! I’ve still got a lot to learn about stairs and railings. I Love to build them though. I’m still waiting for someone to ask me to do a curved staircase. I’dk e to do a big curved balustrade. Id really love to learn how to do the old school day too. Carved to match the pitch of the stair, instead of just put together with stock parts.

Yeah, I have done a few of them. Did a big exterior one that was curved on both sides.

ProThis is some project rail and stair case I did . Other was builder homes we did . Not on par with what you do .

InactiveAwesome stair work. The radius work is so time consuming, but so satisfying when its done like the pictures seen here.

ProI worked for someone a while back and we did a lot of stair case, a few curved, and winders. It’s nice to see the finished product when it’s finally done. There is a lot of man hours in a stair case.

The straight ones were all 2×12 treated, and to get the curves, I built 2×4 walls on the radius. Of course they wanted to have exposed treads, so it made the wall that much more difficult.
