And I thought I got an early start. @crotalusco what type are you starting to grow?

I need to start looking through my seed collection and make up my mind.
I’m thinking to try different than the usual super hots.

Nice variety, do you have a good sized garden to grow in?

    ,
You saw my garden this past summer, I don’t have a lot of room but I cram them in there.
Square foot gardening, they call it..

How well do they grow in pot that size? In my experience the same type of plant can grow 2~3x as big in ground.

You had some really healthy plants when I saw them Frank. Lots of love put into those babies. I still have to get a sample dried spice pack from you. Let’s start off low on the scoville scale, ok? lol

    @crotalusco
Your not joking about a selection. How many different types you have on the go now?

In fact at the location in the photo I had thick clay so they would do better in the pots. Obviously the larger varieties do better in larger pots. If i remember correctly there were a ton of ornamental peppers that year and they are smaller plants. I have seed for well over 100 pepper varieties so I have to grow some out every year to keep refreshing my seed stock. The usda seed from above are all need so very restricted supply of seed so important to grow them out.

I wish I could container grow. But unfortunately the raccoon’s and skunk like to dig through any type of potted plant I put out.

What part of my garden looked like.

I grew my reaper off to the other side on the garage, some what isolated.
It grew to 5 ft tall.

what about building a small greenhouse in the back yard, you can have a small one in the back just for your peppers.

There really is no room for a greenhouse in my backyard. I’ve even resorted to using one of my neighbours yards. All he does with it is get his kids to mow the weeds.
My one tomato plant grew to over 8 ft tall in his yard last year.

I just had a snack that I doused in Sriracha – opened up a tin of sardines in water, drained the water, and dumped in some Sriracha! Good stuff.

That actually sounds good. Funny part is I love most fish but sardines and tuna in a can, and yet it sounds good. Chickens are laying again , so every morning I scramble a few and put it on.Can’t beat it. Good on an egg sandwich as well.
