ProJust got this notification via email. There is a beta release of Sketchup that you can access via a browser interface instead of installing a software program
Try it here

I haven’t tried it out yet but in theory you could/should be able to open files and create modifications of the files on your mobile device if it is powerful enough. This would allow you to make changes on the job site and in the workshop.
Edit: Just launched on my iPhone 6 and seems to work fine for simple things. Haven’t loaded a complex file yet
October 11, 2016 at 10:37 pm #579456Thanks I’ll be checking this out for sure
October 12, 2016 at 8:52 am #579559this looks pretty interesting, i’ll definitely be checking this out once I get a day to sit down and just mess with it.

ModeratorThat’s really cool, thanks for sharing. I can see that coming in handy for showing 3D models to clients of their kitchen or whatever the project might be. I’m really curious to try it on my phone to see how it handles it.

ProSketchup has an app for mobile devices so that you can view sketchup files. You can’t do any editing in that app.

I think that if this beta actually works well it would give someone the chance to make on the fly edits at the work site rather than putting notes on paper or in another app. MOre detailed work could be done on a computer later on.

That’s nice. Now you can show your projects to potential clients.

October 13, 2016 at 8:06 am #579841Every time I use SU I have to relearn it. I don’t use it often enough to retain the information. I use an older version (8) as it is easier and the newer one works in ways I don’t like (the orbit tool for instance).
You can get the older (and easier) version here (also a bunch of other neat SU stuff):
