I think it would be ok on the things I use one for, I made one the last time I needed one. A short little piece of 1″x2″ with a pencil and some duct tape LOL. So, Depends on the price.
It seems like it may be a gimmick, I will continue to use a compass for scribing. I typically have to scribe next to uneven surfaces that to get them tight I need more detail than that tool would give me.
I might give it a try. I have a terrible time with fumbling stuff when I scribe. Never can see to hang on to things. This might help since the pencil and the tool are solid to each other and it looks like something I might not drop.
Seems like an interesting concept but it’s no match for my shop made scribe tool 😛

Dan, I would take your custom scribe any day of the week. Call me old fashion but I just use a compass similar to the one I had in elementary school.

Nice tool Dan and a couple great articles. Don’t worry, I won’t tell anyone about the Dan’O’Matic Scribonater 4000 you gave me. The combination cup/muffin holder was a great addition 🙂
