Hey guys I’m looking to get some precision screwdrivers. I’ll need a few different sizes of Phillips and some different metric hex head sizes. If anyone can recommend a good brand and post some pictures that would be awesome thanks.
December 1, 2016 at 11:11 pm #594218I like these, the wihas.

they aren’t cheap though, very good brand.

They just had a whole bunch of WERA’s they were clearing out on Cyber Monday at Lee Valley. I just pulled these links from my brousing history. Some are sold out though.

December 2, 2016 at 5:11 am #594245As mentioned @kswiss, Wera has some nice sets but spendy.
Another brand would be Wiha http://www.wihatools.ca/480-precision-tools

— Glenn BottingDecember 2, 2016 at 6:22 am #594266Thanks, I’m going to go down to kms tools today to see what they have before I go ahead and order online
December 2, 2016 at 6:32 am #594272I prefer the Wiha over the Wera in precision screw drivers. They fit my hand a little better. I would say ether will be a good choice for you.

December 2, 2016 at 10:11 am #594307Wiha and Wera are some good brands. I still have a bunch of Wera screwdrivers back in germany. I should get them over here one day.
Might be personal preference between those two brands."If you're going to do something, do it right the first time"

Palm Springs, CADecember 2, 2016 at 1:02 pm #594332I did end up picking up one Wera Phillips screwdriver today. Not a bad deal for $5, I’ll post some pictures when I get home. Unfortunately they didn’t have any of the wiha available. I’m still on the lookout for some metric hex drivers

Might be personal preference between those two brands.May I ask, why do you need ‘precision’ drivers? What’s the application Kyle @kswiss?
I was all tempted to get some of the LV clearance stiff on the Wera, but I just felt that even at a 30% discount it wasn’t for me.
December 2, 2016 at 7:45 pm #594422I think they only have small Philips and slotted but I have been really happy with the Milwaukee ones I have.
December 2, 2016 at 10:09 pm #594483I vote for Wiha also. Nice stuff from precision screwdrivers to their regular screwdrivers.

I’m using some smaller screws for building my newer 3D printer and I find that they strip easily

If they are easily stripping, then you really need a quality set/brand.
Check on Atlas Machinery’s website for Wiha brand. They are a Canadian Distributor.“If you don’t pass on the knowledge you have to others, it Dies with you”
— Glenn BottingDecember 3, 2016 at 7:00 am #594561Thanks I will check out atlas for sure

if you need, next time i go in I can take a photo of all the precision screwdrivers and see which ones you want.
December 4, 2016 at 12:30 am #594761I found out wiha ships direct via their Canadian website. I’m thinking about ordering a few things, if anyone else is interested maybe we can do a group order type thing?

Check out https://www.wihatools.ca/order and let me know what you would want to order. I guess we would get everything shipped to the most central person?
December 4, 2016 at 4:41 am #594779Wiha and Wera are not the same company? I thought it was just different spelling for the same name. 😮
