I bought a relatively inexpensive ($399) pressure washer at Lowes. It’s a Troy with a Honda engine.

It’s lasted 3 years and we use it quite a bit. My brother in law is a painting contractor and he has a Big $ 3000 unit. His is in the shop and so he borrowed mine for about a week and was impressed.

I think any tool you can get with a Honda engine is going to suit you pretty well.

It’s the pumps that you have to worry about in pressure washers, I’m really surprised mine has lasted this long. My last one only made it a year and it was more expensive.

Do any of you guys use an electric pressure washer for work around the house? I was washing out my garage after some pumpkin carving and the hose wasn’t doing the trick. I was thinking electric would be far less maintenance for the 5 times a year that I would use the unit.

I’ve never seen a electric pressure washer worth the money you pay for it.

Mark, after I posted that I have been doing some research and find that the electric just don’t stack up.

Yes Jason, I don’t beleive the PSI on the electrics go up much beyond good pressure on a garden hose, maybe 1200 PSI. Longevity and quality are a concern as well.

No professional that actually uses pressure washers in their business, would even consider a electric unit, therefore, they are made for homeowner quality. Think Harbor Freight quality.

Me and my electric pressure washer resemble that remark.

Jerry, I think you meant resent. 🙂

After some looking around I think the Black Max pressure washer powered by Honda looks like the way to go.
