February 20, 2016 at 6:56 pm #475448Wow. Good to hear that things are working out. I also just had a friend who had a similar situation. Best of luck with the rehab.
February 20, 2016 at 8:48 pm #475474To everyone that has thought of what’s going on here and said a prayer over the last few months, there’s good news!
I took my first step with my new leg.
This is the ‘test socket’ and I get my permanent one next Friday.

Palm Springs, CAFebruary 26, 2016 at 1:00 pm #478776Yaaaayyy!!! I got my leg!
To all that have put up with this saga, my many thanks.
I get to wear the knee a little more each day. Right now I still have to use a walker to keep my knee from going out from under me. About 5 months of disuse and it’s weak.
This ‘final version’ is done out of carbon fiber and assembled much like fiberglas is with layers of cloth and resin. He asked what color and I said 1968 Chevy Malibu SS Metalflake blue . He matched the color pretty well, but the metalflake didn’t show through the resin. The blue stuff is cloth. The plastic is clear to light yellow.
Thanks to the support and prayers of BTP members I’m walking. It’s slow to start with, but it’s getting better all the time. I’ll never be able to say thank you enough.

February 26, 2016 at 6:03 pm #478845That’s great Phil! Maybe you can take it to a body shop and have it painted with the metal flakes!

My wife was saying she would pin stripe it (she used to work at a body shop) and we joked about the glitter – figured we could wait until body glitter goes on sale after next Halloween 🙂 .

That looks great Phil, nice colour choice. I say let your wife pin stripe it.
