Recently I would be working on wiring LED Strip at outside of a house. Furthermore, I am looking for 2700K LED strip with waterproof housing. Does anyone have any suggestion of which brand of LED Strip should I get ?

I see many people go to lee valleys for their strip led lighting. Generally they are known for higher quality items.

I don’t think the LV strips are waterproof. They mention one of the power supply is weatherproof but nothing the LED. Knowing LV writers they wouldn’t miss this piece of juicy info.

These are specifically for outdoor lighting.

I have heard that the LV LED strips are very good.

I’ve used the Lowes electronics house brand, Utilitech, with good success. I have two of them actually.

Outdoor but not waterproof, they just looks surface mounted with no extra shielding. These low voltage LED really aren’t affected by water and you can dunk them and they’ll still work underwater, but long term exposure could be different.

I would be using it on the canopy of the house that I’m building.

Could you cover the strip with some sort of transparent plastic channel? Or recess the strips and use a flat plastic covering.

I afraid that would increase the cost of installation.

Yes, definitely I would upload a picture after installation. But anyway, now I’m in the stage of choosing LED strip. Surprisingly there is not many manufacture that making waterproof LED strip.

So far, the is what I have found : Diode Led Fluid View Strip Light.

interesting what about this one I found on amazon?

I use one of these strips for my seed germination area in the basement.
The strip I have is 600 LED’s /5m and has a clear rubber over the lights and is waterproof, if left uncut.
