Very nice brickwork. How many inches of concrete for the slab?

Very good looking blockwork. Will there be a block centre column at the front?

I’m not sure how thick but there will be 8″ of rock under it and the slab will be independent of the footing.

ProBeen trying to catch up, looks good. A friend in Va is moving to the big Island. She is taking 3 horses, a couple goats with her. She is sort of upset and decided to sell off all her Kune pigs due to wild ones. Guess they are moving about 400 ft up to get the weather and conditions they want. Anyway, nice work

Looks like a lot of thought went into keeping everything stable and crack free.

It’s about 5 to 5½ inches.
Will there be a block centre column at the front?
No the plans call for a wood post so there will be a curb for the post to go on.
Nice to see the block work is done. When is the slab being poured?
Saturday morning at 8am. The pump truck will set up and the cret will show up at 8.
August 26, 2017 at 3:13 am #641849Today was getting the slab ready for the concrete tomorrow. Tied a lot of rebar and built the front form for the header. Dobie blocks are in and it is ready. The pros will be there with the whirly bird and I hope they get it as nice as Ron’s shop slab.
August 26, 2017 at 5:20 am #641865Seeing it all formed out it looks like a nice sized shop. The prep work is excellent, that should be a very nice floor.

Looking good Dirty. That was a bunch of tying. My back hurts just thinking about bending over all day.
I have no doubt they will make the slab smooth as a baby’s butt.Ron
