Welcome Norman, you found the right place! I belong to a bunch of forums and this one is my favourite. The folks here are pretty cool!

Welcome to BTP @NormanGallaher! So you run a shop class for home schooled kids? That is pretty cool.

All my new tools will be Bosch from this point forward.

You have no idea yet how true that may become. After a while here, you may find yourself buying just as much if not more for Bosch tools than you are redeeming for. I went from one piece of blue in my shop last spring to well over 20 now. Half of them bought in local stores or online.

Btw, welcome to the forum Norm! 🙂

My employment as a State Probation Officer keeps pretty busy. However, I have been a DYI person forever. I recently moved to a new home that presented me with an opportunity to build a decent size 16 x 16 shop. I mainly build furniture, jewelry boxes and other medium size items. My wife home schools our children and I host a woodworking class for other home schooled kids, the new space has been a great benefit. I really attempt to use as much recycled wood as possible and find it very enjoyable. For tools I have a Varity, a friend loaned me a Bosch impact drill after mine would not drive the four inch screws during the new shop build. I was impressed with how well it performed and its size to weight for ease of handling. All my new tools will be Bosch from this point forward.

Welcome Norman! Would love to see some of the projects you do with the kids! If you have any questions or need any help, dont hesitate to ask. It is a friendly and helpful group here!
