Try eBay. If that doesn’t work, you may need to buy a new gun.

That’s what I like about my 20 year old Hitachi framing guns, still get parts! They’ve been doing it so long they don’t need to keep changing it.

That is amazing you can still get parts for it. Nice that a manufacturer continues to support its customers with parts to keep good tools working.

    Have you tried this site?

    http://www.ereplacementparts.com/dewalt-d51844-type-framing-nailer-parts-c-1009_1165_127187.html

if these guys don’t have it, then you might as well buy a new one.

It says they don’t. I looked on several sites before suggesting eBay. You might be out if luck Vos. Time to go shopping!

In that case, time for a new one. Maybe you can find a donor tool but that’s a lot of hassle.

I had a Bosch rotary hammer, unit was I n great condition but the switch was discontinued. it was disheartening to throw it in the “Old” tools pile when it only needed a switch. the cord came in handy for another tool.

That’s going to be a tough one as when one place is out they are all out. I have no idea if there are places that deal in obsolete tool repair parts like there are for auto parts, but if you do find it it will be expensive. eBay is your only choice but if you are looking for it so are a bunch of other guys. Time is money best to look for a replacement.

Unfortunately that is the fate of a lot of old tools when parts get discontinued. Trouble is if you stumble on another one that is broke and figure you can use it to save yours, the same part is bad on it too.

well if you can create the part in a 3d program, you can reprint it and it will live again!

That would be quite the project IMO. Wouldn’t you need a trigger to start with…to use as a template?

That may be an option, I forgot about the 3D printers. Of course only the plastic will be reproduced not the metal contacts.

    Tyler,
If this is the style of framing gun you like, Your best bet might be to source a replacement gun on eBay or try to pick up cheap one on eBay to use for parts.
