As I’ve posted before, I’m currently working at a recycling facility for the winter. A while back I noticed the guy at the end of the line had a framing nailer sitting in the scrap pile and I put it in the tool room for safe keeping until I checked to make sure it wasn’t something he wanted. I’d forgot about it but we were cleaning the place out and I came across it and asked him if uit was something he wanted and he didn’t want it so it made its way into the back of my car.

I don’t have an air compressor, but it is on the wish list, so I can’t check function but it appears all there(even the safety on the nose still works. It is cosmetically a bit rough. ID tag on it says it belonged to the the local vo-tech so being cosmetically rough isn’t surprising.

Wowwy good for you, That job does have it’s perks. I’m a bit sceptical that someone would toss it if it works but then again ya just never know, Perhaps a little lube and some maintenance would bring it back to life if need be. Could be as simple as a firing pin too…..Good Luck and keep us posted on what ya find out

Might just need a rebuild as well. Any way its a lot cheaper than a new gun for as much as I’ll use it. It looks fairly old so I’m thinking they got some newer guns and this one sat around and wasn’t used. Still had nails in it too., which I find a little odd since the air connector was missing.

Although this job has a few perks, I’d say they are far outweighed but the cons. Rats, needles, and dirty diapers(both baby and adult) are regular occurrences. This month I think we’ve been broke down more than we’ve been running. right now the transfer belt’s jammed(the sidewall on the start of that conveyer’s worn through and the nelt gets jammed in the cut) Spent half the morning getting it free and it jammed up again right before we left. We’ve shipped out 5 loads so far and that’s half what we should have. We’re supposed to shit between 15-18 loads a month.

Had a guy go to the hospital yesterday. Didn’t listen to what he was told and walked on a piece of cardboard that was covering a hole in the floor temporarily while someone worked on belt(chute that goes on the hole was removed for access). The guy got the edge of the 3/4″ steel floor between 2 ribs and severely tore a muscle, we all thought he broken rib.

That is a Nice grab. hopefully it works. I would guess the air connector was taken to use on another gun. If they sit to long the seals dry out. I would guess it probably needs a rebuild, but if you do it yourself, it is fairly reasonable.

Bostitch is all I’ve ever used so I won’t know the difference. I figure no mater what, its a free gun and even if its dead, its still no lose to me. I’m just surprised they’d take the connector and leave the nails.

Good scoop, sounds like you have a rough job at times, no smelling roses there.

Great find. It would be a welcome challenge to revive the gun.

. I’m just surprised they’d take the connector and leave the nails.

If there was a new gun, it might not take the same angle nails.

Nice score. It’s awesome how you fix up tools and do modifications like adding new handles on hand tools and stuff.

    Honolulu,, Hi.

Great! Was the air inlet broken off or just missing? A rebuild kit can be had at E-replacements.com.

Thanks for checking in Dustin, we were beginning to worry that maybe the garbage got to you. Always appreciate your insights and opinions. I hope you plan on contributing more often. As to that nailer, nice pickup, now lets see if she works.

    Cheers,
