    Honolulu,, Hi.

    I hope I don’t get arrested by the food police…. but the wife and I smoked a 4 lb rump on Sunday. Will have plenty for roast beef sandwiches the rest of the week.

    Man that looks great. I need to set up a small smoker. I bet the vegies were good too.

    Smoked beef makes the best sandwiches; a little chipotle BBQ sauce and mmmmmm.

    Oh man, that looks amazing, do the juices drip down onto the veggies?
    I can just imagine what those sandwiches will look and taste like.

    @rerun_1965 those look frigging great,

    We should put a time to post on this thread, nothing early, it’s 7 am here and I had toast? And now I’m starving looking at these mouth watering pictures.

    That sure looks good from here.
    Didn’t know that you have a Kamado style cooker Sprokitz. They sure do cook good.

    In our house, homemade soup is a favourite both for home and for carrying to work or to the jobsite.

    One of the best begins with a smoked, bone-in ham. Once the ham has been fully appreciated, cook the bone in a big pot of water, add yellow split peas and, when its all simmered down toss in some shredded bits of the leftover ham. It’s just that easy.

    I couldn’t agree more about homemade soup. I love it. My likes homemade soups also. Now my kids that is a different story.
    I like to use a ham bone for bean soup. Never made split pea before. Will have to try it. Want of my favs in Hamburg soup. My FIL loved the way I make. I haven’t made in awhile.

    The pan was in from the get go to catch all the drippings. With an hour of smoking time to go, we added a can of beef broth and the veggies to the pan. When the rump came off and was wrapped to rest we cranked the heat up to finish cooking the veggies.

    Yup, we really like the Kamado. We have grilled on it but mostly used it for smoking. Used lump hardwood charcoal and mix of hickory and mesquite for smoke on the rump

    I have never tried a roast on the grill. Did it come out tender?
