Here’s a link to a tile site I like; some of the other members have seen it before, but I thought I’d share it here as well:

When I tore out the tile shower in my home I found that the guy had put down Kerdi, nailed 2x2s to it to make a drain pan form, then tiled right over the 2x2s. They came out in strings.

Wow, that’s a special kind of suck.

Commercial tile is usually done so horribly here. Nice to see the residential guys, who keep us in business, at work.

That is some kind of special. Sad to say that I have seen lots of tile jobs just as bad.

Wow, some of those made me want to scream. And the particle board under the ditra – all the best intentions, why buy the good stuff and not read the instructions.

Looking at the standing water, makes my skin crawl. Imagine the bacteria.

That looks like the tile work in Latin America. You cannot believe the crap work they all do. They start at one wall and work to the next rather than starting in the center so that the edges are even all around. Cement block work in Panama is the worst I have ever seen. They leave gaps in the blocks that you can literally see through, put your fist through. They drop a block and it break, no problem use the pieces in the wall then fill the cracks with crumpled up cement bags before the top coat of cement goes on.

Dang, Pretty scary. It makes me wonder what mine really looks like behind the scenes LOL… I guess it’s fine since it’s been there for over 20 years and still looks good and solid
