I just found these in an e-mail newsletter. simple and easy to install and it would free up a lot of outlet space.

    That’s pretty cool.

It looks like these are the guys who manufacture them:

    https://www.snappower.com/

Looks like they also sell a version with a nightlight.

Nice to see you back Jim. It has been a while. I need to install a couple of these or the outlets, it would make things a lot cleaner.

I like those, might have to stop by the electrical supply house and see if they have any of these.

Love the idea. I find it odd that their website says nothing about the power output though.

I spent quite a bit of time searching for a high output USB outlet. Many options were low powered…less than the little transformer of most devices. The one I bought is a 3.1 amp output. That’s enough to quickly charge an iPad battery.

When my friend just did his remodel up at the lazy piggs house he installed plugs with USB outlets in them but they looked different than that one.

I like that but if you look at most of your cell phone charging cables, they aren’t usually very long.

i have to change my outlet now…i really like this idea or i go straight with an outlet with integrated USB.

Kurt nice find. I take it the outlet cover takes the 110V and drops it down to 5V internally?

These are the ones I have been using.
I think they look a little nicer.

This is the style I typically see in the local big box stores. or with the USB vertical.
Have not seen this new one but as mentioned if the output is to low, then the charge time increases variably.

That’s like mine, but the USBs are vertical and rated at 3.1amps.

I like those, Ron, do you know if they are available with 20A rating?

Duct tape can't fix stupid, but it muffles the sound.

I think the ones that Kurt found just require you to change the faceplate not the outlet. It is a simple one screw and click installation.

    @smallerstick,
    Peter,
They have them listed on Rona’s website, so if they have them the other big box stores should.
