ProI have a Hayden 1284 oil cooler with a 16″ fan. The fan is a puller type, it also helps keeping the compressor head cool. Cooler features brazed cooper tubes with aluminium fin construction. Turbolators in every tube provide 3 1/2 times more coolinh surface than bare tubing. Overal size is: 16-3/4 x 24 x 1-1/2. Fitting size: 3/4 FPT.
The goal with this setup is to cool the air from the compressor head, then to the water trap, before dry air goes to the tanks.
Got some premade hydraulic hoses for this setup.

Very very nice setup. That will ensure dry air for sure.

Put your water seperator/air dryer at the lowest point of the air line. Even if you need to route it down to the dryer and then back up again. Water flows down hill so it will naturally flow to the seperator.
Also, if you put your dryer/seperator low enough so that you can slip a bucket around it, you can fill the bucket with ice, which will increase it’s efficiency by helping the water condense at the dryer for critical situations like spraying finishes.

June 27, 2020 at 8:22 am #746792While that certainly looks great, I can’t imagine putting in that kind of work on a compressor tank. I hope you use that thing every day for the rest of your life to maximize the value.
