You can probably still find the filters on amazon. I buy filters all the time there from way obsolete vacs.

I bought one on Amazon it was the right size. The filter that came with shop vac was the right size. So I filter to match up sizes.

Also here is how I fixed the noise in shop vac.

Art has a way with videos, just love his work. Nice easy fix for sure.

I like his videos too. It was a easy fix.

It is definitely a pity to see Sears Canada go, but they lost their mojo years ago when it sold out to a financial management firm which turned it away from online, and just milked it to death, taking profit out and putting nothing back in.

It does suck as the amount of people lost there jobs.

. I got to wondering where I would buy another filter for it since Sears Canada is closing. I did buy a new filter for about a year ago from Sears as the one that came with when I bought it used. I am not sure if I can match one with with shop vac. As I did have quite a problem finding one.

Thankfully for my old Craftsman vac I found these ones at HD. You should look at HD and see if they also work for yours. Here’s a pic of a genuine Craftsman filter and the third party ones I bought.

I should mention though, I bought that third party one a few years ago, but there are so many Craftsman vacs out there I have to think that there’s enough demand that finding filters for them made by third parties shouldn’t be a problem for many years to come.

    @gtokley

Thanks Kevin. I will have check HD again. I will have look up my filter number again. I have here somewhere.

Emerson made vacs for both sears and ridgid so many of the filters are the same, just have to match them up

Unfortunately that’s the situation I see with plenty of manufacturing and or companies,

Wonder how this will be handled if Sears goes under?

I guess that will be up to the owners of the Craftsman name.

They were sold by Sears to Stanley B&D early last year. Looks like Lowes is gonna be carrying Craftsman soon now.

K Mart vanished in Canada many years ago. I don’t recall exactly but probably 20 years ago and Sears is almost history.

It’s to bad, I really enjoyed walking through the Sears store, they had everything, and decent pricing,
We bought plenty of things from them, in the last ten years, I can remember my garage door opener, the lawn mower, appliances, freezer, fridge, and so on, plus plenty of clothes,
    Sad to see them close.

    Sad to see them close.

I thought Eatons was sad to see go back in the late 90s. Sears not so much. I’d been rarely ever shopping there for over a decade. They lost me years ago.

Yeah, I definitely agree about Eatons
My dad was a manager at the Montreal downtown store, he retired after 38 years of service.

Plenty of stores closing and so on.

I remember we had both Eatons and Sears catalog stores here in town. I thinking Eatons left in the early 80s in town. I haven’t bought much from Sears over the years. Can’t really say why.

    Renodepot is selling Craftsman snowblowers.
    Leftovers from Sears?

    https://www.renodepot.com/en/brand/craftsman?utm_medium=email&utm_source=eblast_en_dim&utm_campaign=s54_2017_eblast&utm_content=craftsman%20

Since RD are owned by Lowes now, and Stanley/B&D who now owns Craftsman said they would carry be selling Craftsman brands with Lowes, I think that would be the connection.
