ProGood thread. I use a lot of the blue stuff, but it is OK like others have said – sticks sometimes and have to reapply as well. For sticky stuff I have had luck with “duck” duct tape. Have not tried the Gorilla tape, but have seen it on the shelf and wondered how well it would work.

I use this tape when working on our surfing and windsurfing boards. Like you said the resin from releasing the glue.
August 29, 2014 at 2:41 am #179392I’ve never had luck with the cheap stuff especially with a hand masker
August 29, 2014 at 6:55 am #179448Never liked the blue tape when spraying, it wont stay on. Green stuff works a little better for me.

March 23, 2017 at 7:24 am #617185Good question. When I painted 3 bedrooms and living room. I used blue 3M tape with orange writing. It did pretty good. Not to sticky when masking off trim and yet easy to pull it off when your done. I would recommend it.
March 23, 2017 at 8:39 am #617201ive foind masking tape to be hit or miss… we use it for putting up plastic to mask off rooms, also use it to tape down paper to protect floors..
either its too sticky and removes finishes or is a nuisance to remove. or it just doesnt stick at all
i do have a roll of the green g tape that i won through a ig giveway but between lack of work and my leg injury i havent really used it much yet. hopefully early – mid april i will be able to go light duty and use some

I was thinking of trying out the G-Tape, but have yet to meet anyone who has actually tried it.
Suppose to be super sticky, reusable but yet leave no residue behind.“If you don’t pass on the knowledge you have to others, it Dies with you”

Pro@Boschmanbrian Did you buy the green or yellow one . There tape is good and pricy if your doing a large job . What’s good about there tape is it swells up on the edge when it gets paint wet so it seals for a cleaner paint line .
Always willing to learn .

Thanks for the tips , I bought the green one ,
And I bought the cheaper painters tape again the green one more for the baseboards at the floors , figured if anything that can be cleaned better than the walls being splattered with paint going under the tape ,August 5, 2020 at 6:37 pm #749119I go with the green one too.
A bit expensive but it doesn’t leave any marks.August 5, 2020 at 6:55 pm #749125@Boschmanbrian Did you buy the green or yellow one . There tape is good and pricy if your doing a large job .
