st $180 all in. Or I can get it from Japan for about $65 and it will only take an extra couple

Where do you buy your Tenryu blades from @montreal_woodworks ? As a fellow Canadian I am very interested in that price differential. 🙂

If you want to avoid using online translators, Amazon has lots of country locales. Australia is a good source of Asian goods, while UK is good for European.

If you are willing to navigate in other languages, compare what you can pay on the actual correct country

For Europe’s amazons, also try the countries that are on the Euro – and compare them. They may have very different prices from one another. Some will be reasonable on shipping while others will be punative. And sometimes faster shipping is cheaper. Try it.

XE is a good currency exchange site – I use it to see what it is really costing in Canadian dollars

Camelcamelcamel lets me see the historical prices for anything on amazon so I can see if it’s a good deal or not. You can also set price alerts for things you want but don’t need right away.

For the best international shipping, Axminster tools in the UK has good prices but you can navigate in Canadian dollars and see all shipping and fees easily. Also, stuff seems to arrive in only a couple of days. I just bought some stuff from them Monday evening and it showed up yesterday

And take the time to look up the model number on the manufacturers local website – things often are sold under different names. You can’t even trust descriptions as they may use a different term. One example I saw recently was a Jointer. In Europe, they call that machine a Planer. What we call a planer, they call a thicknesser. Actually, if I think about it, I like their words better. A jointer (our word) makes one plane, or two with the help of the fence. A thicknesser makes the wood parallel at the set thickness.

    Honolulu,, Hi.

I started a battery and charger interoperability thread so the track saw discussion can get back on track.

    Good move.
I wonder if Bosch has put any of the track saws and tracks into the US tradesmens hands so they can have reviews ready for the release of the tools?

gary katz recieved one back in like late august early september, he had some stories posted with it on instagram

I looked on You Tube and didn’t see anything with Gary Katz and bosch track saw. Oh edit I could find it on instant grams,,

Thanks. I’m gonna check that out. Never heard of it.

Has this saw made it here yet? A internet search found no one here actually having one to sell.

It’s on Bosch’s website already and Toolnut has a product page for it too.
No clue tho when it actually comes available.
I’m pretty sure that Bosch will show it off at WOC in 2 weeks

I just bought the cordless Makita and along with my Festool TS75, I now really don’t have a need for this new track saw to NA from Bosch myself.

That may change though once I see the accessories that you can use with different tools on their tracks, but somehow I have a feeling that Bosch won’t bother bringing those into NA.

Bosch is releasing all FSN products which are available in Europe

Look what I just found for sale….

    https://www.atlas-machinery.com/bosch/gkt13-225l/

    Accesories….

    https://www.atlas-machinery.com/searchresults/search-results/?search_query=bosch+fsn

    Including the router plate here….

    https://www.atlas-machinery.com/bosch/fsnofa/

Funny thing is, there is still nothing that shows up as being available anywhere yet in NA using the PriceSpider search tool on the Bosch Track Saw product page as of just now.

    https://www.boschtools.com/us/en/boschtools-ocs/circular-saws-gkt13-225l-198182-p/

Now I did call Atlas to ask if they had any of this stuff in stock, and I was told they did not, nor do they’d have an expected/known date yet, but at least for us Canadians, we kinda see what the retail pricing will be. The gentleman I spoke to said they placed a large initial stocking order for all this stuff with Bosch on the 8th of FEB.

Slower than molasses in January – or February!
Spoke to a finish carpenter yesterday who is buying the Makita, not willing to wait for Bosch. The Bosch looks like a nice saw and great track system, but I don’t expect to ever see many given how late it is to market. Too bad.

Yes, Bosch has missed the boat on this and probably many other tools from Europe. Too Bad.

Looks great , kinda pricey if you compare what you can get with the Makita cordless 🤔

May be the delay is due to them not able to come up with a transformer like nickname for it LOL.

It is pricey. And having just bought said Makita cordless track saw last month to compliment my Festool TS75 track saw as a lighter more nimble portable cordless alternative, it is highly unlikely I’m gonna buy or want the Bosch track saw itself.

I may be interested in some of those add-on accessories though for some of my Bosch stuff to work on my existing Festool and Makita rails. Anybody know if the accesories work on competitor rails?

Everything I’ve read indicates the answer is no. Festool and Makita are fairly interchangeable, and Bosch to some extent with Mafell (less info around on this), but no overlap I recall between the two sets.

I have all of the Bosch rail accessories. Jigsaw, router, little 12v circular saw. All. Every one has two grooves so it can ride on either rail type. I use mine on Festool rails mostly

Dewalt and Makita come with a railing and cost much less.
Why no railing here? What’s the catch?

My bad! Thanks for clarifying that, @montreal_woodworks. I’ll have to check out the jigsaw plate.

Thanks so much for chiming in Eric. I was hoping you were still following such a thread. I’m gonna figure out in due time what setups I may be most interested in having the Bosch rail accessories for. Do you mind if I tag you when that time comes Eric? Right now I’m thinking mostly for my Bosch 12V and 18V jigsaws and small routers.

I have the newer 1.25 HP Colt and also the 12V router. I was just starting to look into what I wanted insofar as the Colt is concerned as I saw that its plunge base has been released (PR111) and is available via Federated Tools here in Canada but seems a bit on the pricey side at $150 CAD to what other retailers may be charging for it when there’s more availability for it out there.

Anyways, still some more homework needed on this on my part figuring out what I may want.

Feel free. I still get a couple of alerts but otherwise don’t really stop in anymore

As for the plunge base, I ordered from them in November. I still don’t have it but they call me weekly to tell me bosch promises a shipment the following week and would I prefer to keep waiting or cancel. So, it’s still vapour
