    I don’t thick its a knockoff.
They will be made in Bosch’s Pinang factory in Malaysia

what does your PS41 says? just curious

It was assembled in Mexico but my IDH182 says made in Malaysia.

its quite interesting from where all those different tools are coming.
but anyways enjoy your new GDR aka PS42 😛

Korea is 9 to 10 hours from me and we have daily flights.

I thought you got it from the UK like you did with the 12V drywall driver. Korea eh! What was that thru? Ebay?

    #480539

Yeah it was Ebay @Doobie. Funny thing was tracking showed it going to Alaska first from Korea and then to Ohio.

I was very happy! I was going to buy it from the UK like my drywall screwgun but this was cheaper and tye UK site I bought from before didn’t have it available.

If the little 12v circular saw could cut through a 2x I would order that guy too. I think I am going to add the 12v recip saw. With that and my jigsaw I should be covered for occasional cutting of wood. For anything major I can grab a corded saw or we probably have a miter saw set up on site.

Great comparison video and review. You need to see if the PS42 can put in a 7″ by 3/8″ lag in a end of a 4×4.

Ha…I am pretty confident it will not.

I think I am going to add the 12v recip saw.

I’ll be getting one too at one point. Especially since I saw another member showing how he took an old blade, sharpened it to a knife edge, and uses it to cut up large cardboard with it for the garbage recycling blue box.

that and my jigsaw I should be covered for occasional cutting

    What model jigsaw is that?

    I believe crotalusco was that.

im pretty sure andrew meant the JS120 (12v jigsaw)
the 12V recip saw (PS60) is a nice handy tool but after trying out the 18V version I kinda want to add that to my shop.

Yes, I think it’s just not available here yet,

    #480733

I have the 12V circ saw. I’ve been using it for breaking down very large pieces of plywood which aren’t practical for me to lift onto the 4100. I find that it has a place next to the Mafell MT55cc that I have, since its a significantly lighter and more compact saw with decent dust collection, when I don’t need the speed and power of the MT55cc it’ll do the job just fine, but a bit slower.

    It’s definitely a niche saw.

    Andrew,
Thanks for the review. Great Job!
I am the Product Manager for Bosch Cordless Tools North America, mainly Drill Drivers and Hammer Drills, 12, 18, and 36V.
Both the PS42 and PS82 will be launching in May 2016. They are same tool as sold in EU so unfortunately the softgrip will be the same. However, I will keep this in mind for the next generation.
What would be great to know from the guys who use these these tools all day (experts) is how you guys would like to see these tools kitted.

Thanks again Andrew, enjoyed the post!!!

I would love to see a kit with both ps22 and PS42 with a couple batteries in an lboxx

    #480924

Thanks @TimT !! Very nice to have you chime in!! Are you going to be releasing the 2.5 AH batteries as the normal battery in 2016?

I think this should be packaged as a bare tool (obviously), in a kit with 2 batteries and the 30 minute charger, and in a combo kit with the PS32 12v brushless drill and 30 minute charger as well. The combo kit should be an L-box kit in my opinion.

Might also be nice to have the larger 4 Ah battery in some kind of kit with this impact…I think Milwaukee does that as an option.
