I have drilled plenty of holes in my day in your everyday 3000 psi concrete. However, my latest project involves installing 14 wedge anchors 3/4” dia in 5000 psi concrete 6 weeks old. Will the Bosch Bulldog Extreme masonry bit do the job?

I see no reason why it wouldn’t. I have been very happy with the Bosch Bulldog Extreme masonry bit’s. If your worried about the bit not lasting why not pick up two just in case. You should be able to return the second one after the job is done.

It should do the trick, it may drill a little slower and you may see a more bit wear.

We are required to pour 5000 PSI footings and most precast is also in that range. I have set a lot of wedge anchors, Tapcons and LDT anchors in the 5000 PSI materials using Bosch bits.

Well i got the Bosch bit and 15 weeks later i finally drilled my holes (car lift). Drilling 14 holes 6″ deep 3/4″ dia in 5,000 psi concrete is somewhat of a chore. But, the bit held up just fine. Thanks folks.

Which bit did you use? The 2 cutter tip or the 4 cutter tip bit? The 4 cutter version cuts faster and better but more expensive.

Bosch Bulldog Extreme, 4 cutters. Cut nice and straight, no wander. I would not have wanted to use a lesser bit. I did NOT encounter any rebar so i can not comment on its rebar drilling ability.
