Thanks again for putting this thread up once again Chad. And we’ll assume as in past years it can morph into alerts for Cyber Monday as well?

I’ve seen the 1hp colt (old model) for $79 at Lowe’s, as well as their custom 24-bit case for 10 bucks

I saw that at lowes last night, Our local store already has it out and priced that way. I bet it is even better on Black Friday.

I have a question for you all – how do you know if a site is legit? I keep getting this ad on IG for tools that are 90% off – seems to good to be true, which makes me nervous. Plus, I looked around on their site and the English is not that great everywhere. Grammatical errors are littered here and there, which adds to my skepticism. What do you think?

I’ll try to find the link and post it back here later today.

I have seen that on FB a lot. I was tempted but didn’t try it.
I have seen pretty much the same add under a lot of different names.
Usually if it seems to good to be true ……….

    Might check this out

    Or this one:

Most of them will take your money, never ship the product, they count on you to just give up and request money back from your credit card company. They are probably hosted overseas and just rent a UPS store address. Be careful!

Don’t be foolish Charlie. Of course it is some sort of scam.

Thanks everyone – that’s what I thought, but it’s always good to have people to double check with.

You can also Google the site’s name and tag on keywords like “review” or “scam” to see what comes up, sometimes you have a list of complaints.

Other times it’s just that there are so many sites with exact same layout with slight variations in names so you know they are up to no good.

The one you listed you noticed they don’t actually list out what tools are included, only some generic descriptions. They may be playing games on what you will receive, they may send you a nice colorful 8.5″X11″ picture of those tools exactly how they presented in the web site. They didn’t say they are selling you the tools, just a picture of the tools LOL.

There was a vendor on eBay some years ago doing similar things. He would list a TV on eBay with a few pictures of the box. He doesn’t say “NEW IN BOX SONY 42″ TV…” he said “NEW BOX SONY 42″ TV…” and listed it at a really good price and those who ordered it received just that, a genuine Sony TV empty box just the way it shows in the pictures. He said he wasn’t cheating if you choose to misinterpret LOL.

Is it OEMed from Harbor Freight? Does it start rusting before you even walked out the store?
