Installed all the steel and the last few panels. Set the pour height and that was it.
Apparently we need to have the engineer come out to check the steel before we place the mud, which is good because we have to button up the forms and build a wheelbarrow platform all the way around the forms as well.Lurking Hit and Run poster.
November 19, 2014 at 12:04 am #218786Looks like it’s comeing along good. Whens the mud coming?
November 19, 2014 at 12:09 am #218796Excited to work on this project with you, I appreciate all the knowledge so far.

Tomorrow at 10 am 😀
That was the plan…but I asked for a one day extension because we have more than two hours of work there before we’re ready.

November 19, 2014 at 12:39 am #218834But there’s a highway project about 10 minutes out of down that has had a full time archeological squad there because they found native bones when they were breaking ground.
All the big project over here have a full time archeological on site through the ground work and if any iwi (Hawaiian Bones) are found the site is shut down.

That would be crazy to find some old bones of some sort. Would suck to have the project ground to a halt also.

Sort of a standing joke around here. What to make a site delayed, toss a handfull of bones.

Got all the forms set yesterday (minus a few tiny filler pieces), built a shoddy ramp for the wheelbarrows and buckets this morning, and then went hard for 5-6 hours placing with buckets and wheelbarrows.
Approximately 7 yards.
Glad it’s over, and I’m going to get a beer in a bit.Lurking Hit and Run poster.

November 20, 2014 at 7:29 pm #219884Zero pump access without shutting down 2 lanes of traffic.
A cost that we weren’t willing to eat I guess.
Lots of hard work today, and the guys all handled it very well…not one chitty attitude on site all day.Lurking Hit and Run poster.

Lots of hard work today, and the guys all handled it very well…not one chitty attitude on site all day.Gotcha. Yep sometimes you just have to get to it. It is also nice when everyone just gets it and the job just moves along. It makes those days of hard physical work go by much faster.

Getting old sucks.
