WE are in a somewhat rural area, but we still see that the younger generation is not real interested it the type of work we do. if it does not have a keyboard attached and a touch screen, they don’t seem interested.

Yeah I am hearing you on that. To bad because many of the older generation made, and are still making a solid living, and one thing is for sure, hard work is good for the mind and soul.

I personally thinks its cool, but if they mainstream that…we are all in serious trouble.

Now, I like what they said about it building an outpost on say Mars. Now that’s interesting enough.

If you saw it in action you wouldn’t be too worried. There is a LONG road ahead of it’s development.

I’m not sure if the road is as long as you think. Did you know Dremmel has come out with one that has a reasonable price (and I use that term loosely).

Awesome article about some college kids putting 3D printing to good use.

I was thinking more along the lines of this version of 3d printed housing.

I’ve seen the small versions of this printer. Its pretty impressive. Kinda takes the fun out of building things.

I would only buy the 3D printer after I tried it or seen it in person.

it would be interesting if they did demo days, I haven’t seen really any push for 3d printers although they are now sold at the big box stores.

Some libraries have 3D printers. Show up with your program and print away.

Your right about that, in our little mall in our town, they actually have a small store that does the same thing.

They charge by the minute, not to overly expensive. I can’t remember what the charge was,

That’s true. I haven’t seen any demonstration of 3D printer on any big store. I assume the high cost of having a demonstration ?

my problem is I don’t know how to program for that, was hoping for a demo that would include how to set a program.

Check out this video I saw on Facebook. 3D printed and assembled. There are links showing the 3D printed parts and assembly at the end of the video.

Pretty cool how it came out and it doesn’t look like a typical 3D print with all the lines.

wow 3d printing has come along way, I only knew them as those clunky looking things with wisps of plastic still stuck to it and the resolution to be low. This is a HUGE improvement to what I thought of it.

I just saw the Dremel 3d printer at Canadian Tire yesterday. It was nice to see it in person. Price was around $1300

Did you see his machine, R-ice? I’m pretty sure it doesn’t cost only a grand. Wonder how much he sells these robot things for? Must be a lot to pay off the 3D printer.

no i didn’t actually see it, and yah it looks really nice so i bet it’ll cost a pretty penny. However it must be extremely useful to be able to print in such high resolution.
